Heading for Greener Pastures?

Jordan is miserable in the city, Ashley is less miserable in the country, and All My Children is, well, miserable.

We're anxiously awaiting the arrival of Aggie and Lorraine, with their scripts beginning to air, we hear, on June 27th. Oh, June 27th, you can't come fast enough!

Our apologies if the podcast is boring or crappy this week. That's just how Jordan and I have been feeling over the state of our little show. Maybe you can cheer us up, here?

I can't cheer you up, but I can say that the release of this podcast sure did cheer me up! Cannot wait to listen!

Jordan and Ashley I cannot tell you how much I've missed your voices. You might have thought it was crappy but I was laughing my ass off most of the time. You two can talk about anything and it would be interesting. Jordan Hudson if you move to Toronto I'll never get a chance to meet you. Love you both and I hope your week gets better.

Ashley, whatever happened to the loca river dancer who lived above you in Brooklyn? How did her suit go?

and Jordan...come out and visit Los Angeles sometime! Hardly a Dominican in sight! ;)

A new episode of the PVP is always a good thing!

So much going on on OLTL and I can't wait to hear Ashley & Jordan's take.

Thanks Verla!

Ashley and Jordan, I echo the sentiments above...You may be tired, stressed, going through a rough patch and hating AMC, but your podcasts always cheer me up!!! Never get cancelled OK, we can't take it!

Just got home from a weekend away from the internet! Listening to it now!

And seriously, I think Chip Hayes is the ONLY writer on the AMC writing staff to know what what a sentence is. Or, at least, how to spell it. Lorraine and Agnes, the show needs your help!

Terry in Toronto said...

Loved the podcast Ashley & Jordan. I want to live in the country too. I wake up to the sounds of birds ... and streetcars and fire engines but your Green Acres existence sounds divine and wonderful for the family. When does Jordan move out?

Anonymous said...

Loved the podcast. And the only reason I can watch AMC is because I lack an emotional attachment. :/ Still better than Kreizman's GL stuff, though.

Let's hope it replaces "The Chew-volution." We're hearing from insiders that both replacements SUCK.

Let's just hope it's not as a ghost coming to bless the unholy union that is Rylee...

I can assure you, Dominicana, that Jordan Hudson is not an asshole.

We have a lot of fun on the show and nothing is off limits. (Sort of. Children and special needs folks most definitely are. Although the previous Emma may have been an exception. Watching her pick her nose was often more interesting than her acting.) Jordan is a loving and amazingly generous person, and he's also funny as shit. He hates quite a few Puerto Ricans too, trust me.

Ashley (yes, xo to you too, even though you called my man an asshole. ;) Understood, though. Sometimes we are both assholes. Sometimes you put a mic in front of a person and that shit just happens.)

Shadow said...

Aw, Jordan got his first hate mail!!!

Actually, we did make fun of Special Johnny & Lily, and we maybe mocked Stuart just a little. But none of them were retards or anything.

Well, we did kind of make fun of or about Spike's cochlear implants. Not to be confused with actually Spike himself, the budding deaf musician.

Dominicana,

First let me say never once did I ever say that Puerto Ricans were better than Dominicans. So don't put words in my mouth.

As for you calling me an asshole you have the right to feel and even say what you want about me on this blog. I'm not offended in anyway. One should not dish it out if they can't take it.

This podcast has evolved a great deal to where both Ashley and I have talked about well everything going on in our lives.

What i think is rude is having neighbors who blast Merengue at a level that is louder then a club, on a work night with their doors open and have the kids running up and down the hall. Another one who thinks its okay to just throw her garbage right outside her door instead of taking it down to the basement. That when I come home there are more then 20 teenagers hanging outside my building and inside the lobby when most of them don't live here. That at 2:00AM I'm woken up by said kids who have now multiplied by three times the amount and are now terrorizing the Grand Concourse like a wolf pack. That a young teenager who live son the same floor as me and who I have known since he was born was sliced in the face in front of our building by three young men who identified themselves as gang members of D.D.P. DOMINICANS DON'T PLAY. I can go on....

Yes there is good and bad in every race. I'm also very intelligent and know that the group who have moved into the Bronx do not represent Dominicans as a whole.

This comment comes from my best friends Vanessa who is half PR/Half Dominican and Rosie who is 100% Dominican. "Lighten up, it's just a podcast."

Chelsea Handler snapped on Puerto Ricans two weeks ago. It was funny I laughed. The same way I'm sure you laugh when you watch any comedian who makes any jokes on any other group.

I won't apologize for expressing my frustration through humor at the decline in the neighborhood that I grew up in.

OH Shadow this is my second hate mail. Remember that Psycho Tranny who despised me. LMAO

Shadow said...

I totally forgot about Psycho Tranny!

Over the weekend I tweeted back and forth with Bobbie Eakes-about running & AMC. She asked if we'd met before. I said no, but told her I blogged for PVP. She seemed familiar with it & said she figured I was involved in the effort to save AMC and then she thanked me for "fighting the good fight". How cool was that? So now I'm just waiting for the restraining order....

Shadow said...

Anybody want to hazard a guess as to who Jane really is? I honestly don't know. Who would have enough access to know every detail of her bedroom yet not realize how difficult her life is on a daily basis? I don't remember a beer drinking, chicken wing loving character from the past. They can't be poor to have had all that surgery. Cambias can't have found that good a surgeon. Gotta be somebody close to her age. Who wants to surgically alter herself to be a 60 year old woman?

Stacy said...

I don't know who they started off having Jane be (some rabid fan?), but I am hoping with Lorraine and Agnes having some input, that they bring it full circle and have it be Janet. I really think it is the only thing that makes sense..that or Silver Kane!

Ashley said...

Oh yeah - Special Lily and that hanky that she used to hold Special Johnny's hand was maybe our FIRST EVER podcast!

Oh yeah - "they sent a deaf kid to music camp" were maybe almost my exact words, huh? At least they're fictional characters we're funning on, right?

Gotta love me some Bobbie Eakes. Sounds like a real doll.

Anyone else but me literally jump up and down squealing over the Josh Duhamel return? Jordan had a GREAT idea - since Leo only has one day to tape, have him carry Greenlee off into the sunset, even if he's coming back sooner rather than later. Who the hell needs Greenlee anymore? To be with Cryan Ryanderthal??

Michael said...

When a meteor is heading toward the Earth, and everyone only has a few minutes left to talk to the people they care about, nobody should pick up the phone to call his or her significant other to say how they always hated how they left their socks on the bathroom floor. The days we can all spend talking about AMC on this blog are drawing to a quick close. I hope I don’t have to read any more hateful insults aimed at the generous, talented, beautiful hosts of the PVP who have given us this amazing entertainment for so long!

Ashley & Jordan, you guys are stars, and the universe is going to find the perfect place for you both to shine even brighter one day soon!

Shadow-- happy belated B-Day! You are a gift to us all!

Jordan, it pains me to disagree with you, but Everybody Loves Raymond is possibly the greatest sitcom ever.

and...

Is Cara Castillo living in an old M*A*S*H set or are we to believe that is where the poor people in Pine Valley go for medical care? Her brother had ten times as many patients when he was hiding out in that abandoned house.

Ashley said...

Oh Amph, we love you so! Just when I'm beginning to like the Castillos, you make some ass-toot comment about them that can't be easily ignored when viewing. But hell, Caracita IS smokin' hot, no?

LoBro and AgNi must be back at the helm, no? I've been dabbling in our little show, and LOVING what I'm seeing! The "lost love" diatribe that Cara went on damn near broke my heart. The yearning, the regret.... *That's* what soaps are about! Loving Jake's dilemma, liking the NuBinx/Marissa tension, the Dixie flashbacks are awesome.....

Inside scoop! The execs at ABC daytime are all atwitter with nerves. They're all literally freaking out about the fact that the soaps were killed at ABC the same year that Oprah is leaving... Oprah anchored their daytime lineup, and the new shows are focus grouping POORLY. The staff is griping that it was really short-sighted to kill these shows with no Oprah to save the day, literally, and that ABC daytime will be left with NOTHING. (And who knows if Katie Ciuric will literally save the daya at ABC. She sucked at the news.) Good news is that if the new daytime lineup blows, Frons will almost certainly be out.

Anonymous said...

Yay for that news! If we can't save the soaps, Fronsie being canned is a good consolation prize.

TnT said...

Jordan, I don't know why you're still longing for a Marcy Walker comeback after her comments that praised Brian Frons for cancelling the soaps. I've added her to my blacklist, along with a few others who support the cancellation. I used to like Barbara Walters, until her comment about Frons' tears. I used to like Oprah until she made that YouTube video agreeing that it's time for soaps to go. I used to like Rachel Ray until her excitement over the cancellations. But I always enjoy your podcasts, even if you still like Marcy (lol)

Shadow said...

My favorite Raymond episode? 'The Angry Family'-- hilarious! But Jordan I'm otherwise with you. Loved Ryan's Hope.

Oh Ashley, how I hope somebody with common sense at ABC prevails and says 'too much too soon'. Somebody could stop all this for a year. Spread it out. Do it right, respectfully and be a hero. Maybe even allow for a contingency plan for production to continue in some form on some channel. As it is, we're all losing. ABC is committing suicide. The casts and crews are out of work. The fans lose their stories. I even sort of feel badly for the hosts of the new shows who are being grossly misled by ABC & whose careers won't benefit. ABC is already acknowledging the shows are likey to tank. If I was a shareholder I'd be pissed.

Shadow said...

Amphitrion, you're in our hearts buddy. Quite honestly one of the people whose kindness & astuteness drew me in and kept me coming back to PVP. Again, this community is a gift of wonderful souls--even Dominicana, when she isn't calling the glorious JHud names, I sense is really a sweetie. I'm assuming her comment was meant as a joke, a raz if you will, because Jordan is about as kind a soul as ever there could be. And for the record don't nobody cross Ashley cause a shit worm will rain down upon you from the Heavens and bad luck and disaster will befall you for the remainder of your wretched life. But as I said, we don't have to worry about that kind of thing here.

Jack Black is one who cannot act, but keeps getting work. :/

Also, Ron Carlivati is going to GH after he pens the OLTL finale! It's as a script writer, but I've heard he may be a co or associate head writer.

This is awesome. I'm legit excited to watch GH for the first time in a long time.

Also, JR has been looking very orange lately. Maybe Jacob and Cameron are tanning buddies.

Anonymous said...

I don't quite understand the criticism that I've heard so far online of Ron C going to GH. What else exactly is he supposed to do? With four soaps left, who DOESN'T want the best talent still working in the industry? I will miss OLTL more than I can say, but the idea that Ron C. might bring a Llanview-like vibe to PC makes me feel just a teensy bit better.

Anyone gonna try to make it here to Vegas for the Emmy's??? if you are local or will be in town, email me. Broadcast is at 5 PM local, red carpet probably around 3 PM.

Jordan, Here is Marcy Walker's comment: Marcy Walker, via Facebook: Quote
"Brian is a good man. Honestly. And making such a huge decision-knowing that many people would be emotional has got to be hard. But know that it takes MANY smart people to make the decision to cancel. But Brian is a creative and talented professional. He may have preferences but he doesn't lead petty or unfairly."

TnT said...

Marcy's comment just makes my stomach sour. And it makes me love Jamie Lunar as Liza all the more. I so agree with you about religion. I don't believe in it either.

Anonymous said...

Oh, Nelson Branco is throwing a fit on Twitter right now worthy of our two fabulous hosts. :) And, of course, their often unheard co-host Shadow.

But yeah, Marcy Walker can go to hell. I'm laying off the JaLu ballsack comments for awhile.

Stacy said...

I am so sad...Marci Walker WAS one of my first girl crushes. How can she be so, so....D.U.M.B? Jamie Lunar....I habpve a new found appreciation for you, even if they have turned Liza into a skank who f's Zack and Damon!

DancingElf88 said...

I'm so disappointed in Marcy. Maybe somehow she doesn't know the true colors of Fronshole. But I don't take issue with religion, I take issue with people who twist it to satisfy their needs and ignorant beliefs. Anyhoo...I'm excited for Ron C. going to GH. I tuned out cause I got bored maybe his influence will be a good thing...I'm not getting the criticism either. Good for him...the man needs a job.

Arizonagal said...

Marcy is entitled to her opinion - her uptight right wing stuffy old fashioned opinion - as are we. She's been gone from the tube for years now and has moved on, so who gives a rats ass what she thinks? Means nada to me.

I was surprised at the half assed response I heard from Cameron Mathison on some interview. He justified the cancellations due to economic considerations and changes in daytime trends. Sounded like he just can't get out of butt kissing mode. He really has no opinion that would ever rock the boat.

Shadow said...

Cameron would sleep with Babs Walters for a spot on the ManView. (Of course the old bag would probably just spontaneously explode into 1000 pieces.) He's got that and GMA or special correspondent for Katie wrapped up as long as doesn't rock the boat. Can't really fault him. He's got a house & kid and half the employment options. And even if Marcy wanted to come back, I've seen her pic. She may have given her heart to Jesus, but she gave her ass to Sara Lee and Hagen Daz..

Anonymous said...

Well, I've accepted that All My Children won't be saved. We would've heard something by now.

And after the last two days, I can see why a lot of people see soap fans as crazy. HOW is saying that Kristian Alfonso, from Days of Our Lives, and anorexic bitch who can't act cause to try to get someone fired? Do people not read TMZ? Besides, everything I've seen/heard already confirmed that...

And yes, I'm talking Nelson Branco.

As for AMC itself, I sincerely hope their wardrobe people never get work again after that monstrous red dress poor Sarah Glendening has been wearing the last few days.

So if Jane isn't really Erica maybe Ben isn't really a black man. Think about that....

THE FLYING NEGRO said...

LOL@ Shadow. Ben is going to rip off his mask, and it will be Helga(Dimitri's old housekeeper).

Anonymous said...

nice to see you back Flying Negro! :)

AMC was only decent today. Still loving how stupid Jane is, and that Jackson thinks "Erica" is going crazy. Also, Greenlee's face every time she talks to Jane makes me not want her dead.

OLTL is doing some great stuff, although Ford/Tess is gross. And Bob Woods is half-assing. Which is sad, because TSJ is actually acting for a change.

THE FLYING NEGRO said...

Thanks Armless-Phelan. Been kind of depressed over the cancelations, but i am going to see the show through to the end!

Honestly, I'm loving the David-Jane stuff. I even feel sorry for Jackson!

Are you an adorable mentally unstable fat woman? Back Bacon got you down? Let ABC's 'The Revolution' take advantage of your misfortune and give you a Fit Ho Make-O on national TV and then abandon your skinny ass like yesterday's soap opera! Call 1-800-FireFrons!

Are you suicidal, but in a cute way? So fat you can barely move, but have a pretty face? Call 1-800-ABC-FAIL! If you survive the holidays, let ABC's new show 'The Revolution' exploit your misfortune on national television to celebrate the New Year!

TheGhostofVerlaGrubbs said...

Hey, Flying Negro.... yeah Helga was extremely creepy. She was almost a verbatim copy of Myra Murdoch (Palmer's maid/mother-in-law) because really also Myra did some bad things in her day. Only difference was that Hells was cuckoo-crazy. That whole Hungarian thing was a blatant throwback to Jane Eyre and Rebecca but it was compelling and worth watching.

TheGhostofVerlaGrubbs said...

As for geee-geee on OLTL, so if she's out now that means it wouldn't show on screen for a few months as they are a few months ahead. Might as well just let her stay til the end being she's barely on anyway.

The one they can get rid off is this Deanna... oy vey. I'm a few eppys behind but really I could care less. More Rama Drama!!!!

Shadow said...

Guess you all heard Kate Collins, MCE & Jennifer Bassey are returning to Pine Valley in July? They break out of Oak Haven to get back to their loved ones. And Dixie's in OH too for some reason.

Shadow said...

OMG, Cameron Matheson is trying to act again. I hate it when he does that.

Shadow said...

I'm struggling to remember a time when Greenlee was fun, bitchy or not. And Ryan bursting into Fusion screaming at her? I don't think so.

Opal cutting Tad's hair? Nice throwback. Her suggesting he dye his hair? Awesome.

Cara needs a poke, a beer and a smile.

Michael said...

OLTL has been great lately, BUT-- Natalie and Brody hitting the sheets five seconds after HOTMessica is finally at St. Anne’s getting treatment and John just kissed CSI Snatchalie in the hospital – is the opposite of character-driven story telling. It was tooooo gimmicky to be worthy of the show and absent of veracity. If the show is truly opting for a Ford/Jess over a Brody/Jess, they are making a mistake. After Todd/Marty, I think the show would be wise to ship Ford off to a permanent Abercrombie and Fitch shoot! I do not want any more victims falling for their abusers.

I am enjoying AMC everyday. Yes, two Erica Kanes is ridic, but LaLucci front and center is never a bad thing for me.

I can only imagine those cosmetic surgery procedures that Jane had to endure: “No doctor, I need more liposuction, you still can’t see all the bones in my thorax!”

Anonymous said...

@Amphitrion

I know! OLTL is amazing, but I can't with the Ford stuff. Worst family on soaps since the Cambias clan.

And AMC is okay. Not great, but definitely watchable. And Jane is just a crazy fan... When she said her daughter died in a car accident, I thought Frankie's mom, but Ben is blaming himself.

Ashley said...

I honestly love what La Lucci is doing with Jane. She's done a great job making this a unique character. Still hate the storyline, but I'm with you, Amph - at least we're getting some La Lucci at her best! She gifted, yo'!

Terry in Toronto said...

Gigi being bumped off accidentally by Jack is great soap! and I don't even feel bad for cheering because it solves two problem actors and makes for interesting storyline. Poor Shayne will be a wreck and now maybe Awful new-Jack will end up in Statesville never to be seen or heard from again. Wherefore art thou little Carmen Laporta? We miss you so.

I agree Amphitron that Jess/Tess and Ford is creepy and a mistake. Ford knows she is not in her right mind and he is still after her which is almost as creepy as Mitch Lawrence ... almost. And Natalie and Brody just don't make sense. Not that I want her back with John because he has way more chemistry with Kelly and Blair but that's just my two cents.

Anyone know when Dixie returns because I might head back to Pine Valley for that.

Arizonagal said...

I'm hoping Jack gets tried as an adult and ends up in prison as fresh meet, Bubba's bitch. Now that would really get rid of two extraneious waste of time peeps.

That said, I thought KFC lips acted the socks off Wrecks. I'm watching Rec and thinking is he for real? Terrible actor.

Arizonagal said...

Ok, Just tied it all together. Rex and Shatnerian pozing is a result of his father, James Tiberious Kirk, who impregnated Rex's ma when Rex and Bo time traveled back to the Vietnam era. Why didn't I think of this before!

Anonymous said...

Oh, Arizonagal, you have so figured it out. But yeah, Farah Fath was acting. I would say "too bad it took for her die for it to happen," but I'm glad Gigi is dead. She royally effed over my Schuyler, and that can never be forgiven.

As for JPL, I thought he was good today, but that may have just been because he wasn't chewing the scenery like he usually does. But Austin and Ilene were absolutely amazing.

But where is Echo in all of this? I wish OLTL would play Roxy and Echo both, instead of just one or the other.

And does anyone else watch Y&R? Oh, Genie Francis is the very definition of a hot mess over there!

Anonymous said...

I'm so happy Venice won the Emmy for best short format or whatever. A show with a sexually and racially diverse cast that isn't about teenagers or twenty-somethings.

Hopefully this will wake up the remaining soaps. Probably not, though.

Anonymous said...

Oh, those Daytime Emmys were terrible. I agreed with most of the awards (Tricia Cast was ROBBED), but Brittany Allen a.k.a. old Marissa has an Emmy...

But yeah, another Vegas infomercial. I'm kind of hoping for no telecast next year. Less insulting to soap viewers who make up the majority of the audience.

brtedi said...

Hey all, I'm back! :-D

(Well, sort of. Due to computer limitations, I can post, but downloading the pod cast could cause major problems)

Anyway, lately my viewing of AMC has been sporatic...I like Tad and Cara. But, I can't get into Jane...I'm waiting patiently for LoBro's work...

I didn't know the Daytime Emmys were on tonight (Apparently, as of late, I've been living under a rock! LOL!)--I caught the last 30 mins. ...Who was the dufus who researched that Erica was married 8 times! Oh get a clue! I've only seen Erica get married once in the 7.5 years I 've watched AMC--and even I knew she's tied the knot 10 times. Geez! I'm so glad Ms. Lucci pointed the error out!

Is anyone else surprised AMC didn't win best soap--considering Fronz is actively trying to kill it?

Was it just me, or did anyone else notice when the actress playing “Marissa”/AMC won for best younger actress the description of her character/ her time on the show was referred to in the past tense? Are the already done taping AMC?

On the plus side, I’m glad Laura Wright won best actress for “Carly”/ GH—That woman acts her face off! I have another comment regarding GH, but that will follow.

Did Marie Osmond have collagen put in her lips? All of a sudden they’re perfect. It’s a little weird. She could give Barbie a run for her money. ;-)

Regarding OLTL & GH:

I was delighted Brody called Jessica out on her mess, during Friday’s episode... It’s about time! IMHO. True. Brody and Natalie aren’t saints by a longshot. But, (since this is a soap) Jessica does have to own up to her part in all of it. ,Brody manned up, finally!

Something is bugging me, lately, about GH: S.O.S (sudden onset stupidity).

Last week, when Lulu was on the Haunted Star, depressed and angry over her father, she started drinking out of rebellion---and Dante went along with her. He had a drink too!, Shouldn’t he have suggested a cup of coffee or water? The man adores her. Why in the world would he not try to gently redirect her, to a safer option, considering her family’s predisposition to substance abuse??? I’m I off base on this?

And then, here’s the biggie: WTH were the writers thinking, having Lucky set Elizabeth’s house on fire? (Yes, I know he shares frustration about the past with Luke, but still) The boys live their! Didn’t Jason pay off the mortgage, since Jake lived there? Now, on top of everything else, a grief stricken mother with small children doesn’t even know she’s homeless!

While I know Lucky is up for the occasional con/scam if it helps he’s dad… He’s (usually) the sensible one in the family. Are the writers snorting white out, or what?!

brtedi

Anonymous said...

BRTEDI........Lucky didn't burn Elizabeth's house he set fire to the Spencer house where Luke and Laura lived

Which is still a travesty but I guess that Guza's final F-U before he goes

brtedi said...

Oh... Somehow, I always thought Laura passed on the house on to Lucky and Elizabeth. (Now, that would have been a lovely, soapy, romantic notion wouldn't it?) OK, I feel a little better, that Lucky hasn't gone totally bonkers...But, it's still a wierd thing to do, considering he's a public servant...Oh, well. Thank you, annonymous, for the correction.

Reasons The Daytime Emmys honored its most famous face Susan Lucci w/ a montage of Erica Kanes marriages 1) They didn't think it had been done before; 2) They didn't care it had been done a million times already by everyone including Oprah; and/or 3) The budget allowed use of nothing more than scissors, newspaper clippings & glue.

And for the 4th of July AMC will air the episode in which Ryan & Greenlee deck are their love for each other. No kidding!! ABC is STILL pimping Ryan & Greenlee in cancellation. It doesn't matter what airs on ABCD. As long as Frons is in charge he will kill whatever is on the ABC schedule.

Marissa won an Emmy! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha .....

Terry in Toronto said...

I'm glad that Scott Clifton won. He was one of the best actors on OLTL and he is never lazy, always doing his best to create something out of ludicrous writing especially at the end.

I'm so glad that when actors leave the ABC shows they win emmys like Billy Miller.

Brtedi, I don't think Jessica should be blamed for the consequences of her disease. Sure it sucks the big one for Brody but she wasn't in her right mind. He and Natalie presumably were ... both times they tripped and fell and his %&&#$^ ended up in her &*^*^&$%^ I am not a Natalie fan.

Anonymous said...

OLTL has been on fire, as usual, but AMC has been pretty decent, too.

But I have to give kudos to Farah Fath. This week, in the hospital bed, she has given the greatest performance of hers I've ever seen!

Also, and this is a rumour/spoiler, but I'm hearing that David/Erica has a shot at being endgame for AMC. Nothing definite, but it's a lot better than Fat Caleb, and judgemental Jackson.

Terry in Toronto said...

You're so right Armless! I have never enjoyed Gigi more than when she was just lying there with a plastic tube in her mouth and chicken grease lips covered up.

I would prefer that Erica end up being one of Nixon's "loose ends" and "end up" with nobody in particular--maybe just juggling Jack and David. I wish a plane would drop on Big Fat Caleb's head for real this time. I completely dislike that character. Erica has spent her life trying to find genuine love she can trust. I think it would be great if she just kept on spreading the love among the men but had an epiphany of sorts with Ian and Spike. All dolled up for a night on the town or gala she kneels to kiss the boys and they say sweetly, "Goodnight Grandma". She knows she is loved in the truest sense and finally contented. After all, there is always tomorrow for Erica Kane....

We joke a lot about the granny thing with Erica, but I think it would be sweet, rewarding and hopeful done gracefully as I have faith Nixon and Broderick could do.

I concur with Shadow. I do not hate Caleb, but he hasn’t been on the canvas long enough to play a significant role in the series finale. I have never been a fan of Jackson, but enough people are that I would not be heartbroken by the two of them ending up together. But Erica’s great love has always been Erica. She does not need a man to complete her story.

I am a little worried about all these departed people coming back. I mean, it is not The Living Dead people. I sort of like Kendall and Griff and Tad and Cara. PLUS--The use of Dixie in the tribute to James Mitchell was so masterful; I do not want to see it undone. Ultimately, I am along for the ride at this point. I will go with the show wherever it wants to take me, and I will try not to complain too much!

I will add that when Another World left the air, the pace at the end was exhilarating. I do not remember a ton of old vets coming back (likely because the great Douglas Watson Constance Ford and Beverly McKensie had passed away), but there was a largely satisfying resolution to all the plot threads. That is why is a little confusing to see Jake and Cara, Marissa and JR and Bianca all having the same conversation everyday. But I hear how all the actors and writers are truly working their hardest to give a great ending to the show. They have earned my trust.

That os so brilliant, Amph! "But Erica’s great love has always been Erica. She does not need a man to complete her story."

It could be like Gone With the Wind! Except instead of Tara, it could be... Erica's apartment? I want to see Erica sprawled out on the floor, hair flowing, clutching her apartment keys and a single glycerin-tear falling down her cheek....

Verla Grubbs is returning to Pine Valley. I know someone on this blog is gonna be happy... :)

Agnes Nixon always said Erica's issue was abandonment. Erica needs to find the kind of peace that comes from being genuinely loved, but not necessarily from Jack. I think they should just shack up. She's beyond marriage. Her life has never been traditional. She has earned the unending love of her kids & grandchildren. Earlier this year Erica had a fit in front of Kendall, let her hair down, vented her insecurities & took a swig of booze. I can't remember her being that truly vulnerable in front of anyone since Mona died. Erica is loved. She just hasn't quite put it all together yet.

SCOOP of the Day: Verla Grubbs is back in Pine Valley in September. I would worry more about all the returns if I cared more about the current complete cast or stories. AMC is totally treading water pending Lorraine's material. Colby breaking into song, Dixie turning in her sleep. Amanda fretting over Jake. Clearly the show is about to do an about face. Next week Madison totally gets reinvented. I can see Lorraine & Aggie making something out f her. Dixie wakes up. The Hubbards are coming alive. Erica attacks Jane. Shit is about to fly. If you never experienced it Lorraine & Agnes masterfully handle multiple characters & integrate stories with an art we haven't seen on AMC in years. As much as I love Barr & Canary maybe I should be satisfied with their wrap last year. Returning characters like Verla, Janet, Marion could pay homage nicely to the Tyler/Wallingford/Dillon/Hunter clans of yore. Back in the day AMC had a large ensemble of recurring characters who came & went and made Pine Valley feel like a real community rather than a condo association. Sometimes people came and went with long spans between visits. I'd rather survey the history and reconnect with the reasons I fell in love with AMC than suffer through 10 episodes featuring what happens to Randi. I'll tell you right now, Randi can be the "loosest end" of them all. They could just drop her like Bobby Martin and pretend it never happened. I'm good with that.

We'll see what happens but considering this is the conclusion of Agnes Nixon's life work, I feel confident it is going to kick ass & take names. It may be over, but it will prove the genre isn't dead. There are just several TV Execs who need to be flogged for suffocating them into a comatose state for several years. It's like a coma patient waking up, shaking off the cankles bedsores & hairballs & proving she strut out of the hospital 30 minutes later dressed to kill & ready to thrill.

2 Snaps.

I have to say that in today's OLTL episode, for the very first time, I thought that NuJack had the possibility of a career in acting - but maybe it was because he was playing against Starr. I actually bought his performance which floored me.

FROM MY EARLIER POST ON FB..... I don't think this really changes anyone's opinion of the way ABC conducted themselves. And of course they made sure they will continue to benefit from the shows they were willing to see die. Still not going to watch the SPEW or the CONVOLUTION. It happens that I have been watching my shows on demand via the web for over a year. And since the web has much more sophisticated ways of tracking what people watch and where they go, the "ratings" will actually more accurately reflect who watches. They have already found a way to sell advertising via the web. It really is a natural evolution, as TV was to radio half a century or more ago. It would be great to see another cable channel that decides to profit from the usage info they get now and run all past and present serial dramas, maybe start to finish in rotation, when they realize what a market there is for it. ( You would actually need TWO channels or more for all of them!) We were on the right track with SOAPNET a few years ago, but they went off track. Maybe the remains of soap dynasties like the Bells and Cordays of the business whose DNA has this genre in it can find a way to monetize it properly. Maybe a partnership of both dynasties along with maybe the DC gang. Make it a labor of love. Heck, thats how Lucy and Desi invented the three camera sitcom and look what happened?? IT CAN WORK, HELL IT CAN FLOURISH. Just needs the right hands......
