We Watched Even Though We Didn't Have To

Jordan hated last week's eppys of All My Children. I, however.... Maybe it's sleep deprivation, or the fact that breast-feeding twins keeps me parked in front of the television for pretty much the entire day until Carlos comes home, but I found some entertainment in last weeks' episodes. That Spinelli guy asking that blonde chick to marry him after having sex with her for the first, mind-blowing time -- adorable! Oh, wait a minute... that's not AMC, is it? (Sigh.)

Okay, so I liked: anything A-Mam-da and Jake, Beaker and eBabe, InsAnnie in that bikini, Madison's hat (the Performer of the Week IMHO), and very little Aidumb. I hated: anything Erica and Ryass and Randi, and the continued decimation of Jesse Hubbard's character.

Notes to y'all: anyone notice Marissa's long neck? I like the actress and the character, people, but fair is fair. She looks like one of those women that puts rings around their necks to make them longer, and when they take them off their necks are crazy long! I was also tickled by Man-Hands JaLu (about the only thing about this character that I enjoy). Take a closer look, folks -JaLu got them man-hands! Makes me really miss our classy Mini-Hands Julia!

My biggest gripe? When Joonyer pulled out Adam's wedding albums, and listed Adam's brides to InsAnnie. Am I wrong, or wasn't Adam married to Brooke? Of course, TIIC wouldn't mention our beloved Brooke. Friggin' a-holes.

Jordan and I will try to do a quck 'cast for next week. Jesse and Estela are keeping me very busy. (I have finally figured out how to use the john with one babe in arms. I'm working on two.) I am also trying to Twitter here and there (PVPodcast is my screen-name, yo'!), and Facebook once in a while, but I won't be back to full speed for a little while, so please be patient with me. In the meantime, a HUGE shout-out to Shadow for his ass-toot and hilarious posts, and to Jordan and all-a-y'all for keeping our little community rockin'. Keep on keepin' on here.

Hey Ashley! :-)

As far as Spinelli and Maxie go, that wasn't the first time these two were together, but it was the first time they were (emotionally) on the same page...You see, Spinelli has been head over heals for Maxie, for quite a while. And, Maxie was in love with Spinelli---She just didn't know it---a feat that most frequently happens on soaps. She just saw him as the best friend she ever had and got kind of jelous, when Lulu Spencer showed interest in him...So, as a way to "ensure their bond", Maxie slept with him. This left poor Spinelli even more smitten (if such a thing is even possible) and eventually even more angry and confused...It's just reciently (spelling?) they've gotten their romantic act together.

Love to hear from you Ashley, pregnancy must be contagious. Daytime Confidential is reporting Alisha Minshew (Spelling?) is pregnant but they won't write it into the show. That's good, another Ryan spawn may send me into a coma.

Maybe we may see her eat on the show now!

Ashley! So good to hear from you. JaLu does have them man-hands...I noticed that too. I haven't had the energy to get through episodes of AMC this past week. I'll give it a try this week.

Okay you all must forgive me....I have yet to watch today's AMC.

I need to just get something off my chest thou about the GL situation. As I watch GL these past few months and now in the last three weeks...my heart is breaking.

I know the way they shoot it still sucks and looks like a student film. This bone head move by Ellen Wheeler to give it a reality show look was the nail in the coffin, without a doubt.

When they changed format they also changed the writing style so the first 6 months GL was awful as we watched meaningless scenes with characters doing mundane things. No story was really being told,

When they were put on notice and the fans cried out. They got there act together. The writers started writing character driven storylines.

Elsewhere people are still picking apart GL. I look at the glass as half full. While this is not my old GL and I hate the new format of filming it. It is a GL I still love. Bill & Lizzie's wedding was not the spectacle of old days soap weddings, but it had so much heart. They even brought back Mindy Sue and Michelle. When Philip kissed Beth, my heart stopped. Today seeing the Spaulding men camping and trying to work out their complicated issues that go back over 30 years was intense. But when Alan told Philip that when he saw him He knew that Philip was the son he was suppose to have and raise. I cried. ( F.Y.I. Philip is not Alan's biological son but has always been his favorite over his two biliogical sons).

Last week Robert Newman as Josh gave an emmy award winning performance that was pitch perfect. For so long this man has lived in the shadow of Kim Zimmer. Her personality and character of Reva is so big. You forget that it takes two to make a super couple. He compliments her because while she is a force to be reckon with. He is strength and grace in his subtle and sublime performance.

The thought of the end of Sept and no more Lewises, Spauldings or Reva Shayne is ....words can't express how I feel. I know ...I know it's just a televison show but a Soap is more then that. It is a family, a community, a shared experience that unites you with people around the world. Doesn't matter if it's Eastenders, AMC, Neighbours, DOOL, Home and way or telemundo. It becomes more thne just a show.

It's so unfair that this show which made such a turn around is being given the axe. I'm not ready to let it go. I love you Guiding Light.

Man-Hands JaLu! Marissa "looks like one of those women that puts rings around their necks". You crack me up Ash! Take your time. We'll be here when you're ready. One of these days they'll synch up, sleep thru the night and life will sort of normalize...until they start moving around. I remember how I couldn't wait for them to walk and when they did, I was just like, no no just sit! Sitting is good! Mobility really changes everything.

aww Jordan, your post made me cry a lil...dang...
I gotta confess...I think it was Friday...I was up early and had nothing to do so I turned on GL and I can see the holes, the bumps, the bruises...

But I also saw Reva hanging onto hope only to have it be crushed as she was holding Colin in her arms, knowing that that's the only thing left of Jeffery.

I saw Phillip trying to gather the Spaulding men for a camping trip so that they have memories...since he's dying and all.

I saw Buzz give winks at what appeared to be history between the Coopers and the Spauldings when James mentioned that him, his father, and his grandfather were all going camping.

I also saw Mallet and Marina running around like headless chickens, but that's beside the point.

As far as PVP, it's good to hear from you Ashley. My monday's have been super dull without u and Jordan giving some ass-toot commentary.

Y&R was fantastic today...Lily's growing on me..and the scene between Billy and Phillip was a lot smoother than I thought....(Thom B is struggling a lil bit)...but that scene between Chance and Chloe....that was kinda hard to swallow. I have a question for GL fans...has John Driscoll always been this awkward?

AMC...eh not bad...I actually liked the David/Marissa stuff and InSannie is always good.

BUT IF THEY EVER MAKE DAVID CANARY DANCE AGAIN...I SWARE THE PROVERBIAL "SUGAR" WILL HIT THE FAN!

If Alicia M is pregnant I can't imagine what they will do while she's on maternity leave? Hey, what if they put in another coma?! Or maybe she'll go to Europe for some intensive scar removal process. Whatever they do, I'm sure Zach will impregnate all her relatives while she's away and when she wakes up or returns, she'll be charged with a felony and blow Ryan.

Did anyone listen to Daytime Confidential's latest ABC episode? Jamey reported who was SUPPOSED to be Stuart's killer but they changed it. It was supposed to be AMANDA. Are you ******* kidding me? For what reason in the world would Amanda have to kill Adam? SUCH BS. Thank god they didn't assassinate her character.

discodan said...

Maybe she goes and burries Josh's body...because that's still never been done.

If Alicia Minshew takes a maternity leave, can we expect Kendall to be in ANOTHER coma? Fingers crossed.

Melissa said...

Alicia preggers??? How can they not write it into the show? Ya can't really hide pregnancy on her 88 pound frame. Maybe she'll pull a Man-Hands JaLu and "pretend" to be pregnant... a third coma is also a good way to go.

Ash, just curious. Did your baby bump look like Kate Gosselins? Did you have to wrap your bump in saran wrap? Are you going to post a picture of the baby bump for those of us who are beyond curious? And Jordan, you are welcome to post a picture of your tummy as well >;-) Oh and Jordan, did you ever post any of your paparazzi pics anywhere? I am dying to see them, and want to know, who were the nicest, most accessible of the stars?

Jordan, I don't find any fault with GL these days. The show has more heart than the rest of the suds combined. The men camping. Heck, I knew that was going to be good. How could it not be good when you have three of the finest actors - daytime or nighttime- together.

My only minor complaint was the force that is Kim Zimmer, acting her tail off trying to find Jeffrey. She is so BIG that it's hard to take in those left in her wake. I wish she'd just added some subtlety to her performances lately.

I adore the cast, each and every one of the GL peeps are gems. I love Buzz and Lilian, it's great to see the "old folks" get some face time. I'd love to see Frank find true love before the show ends. I'd love to see Nicole Forrester return as Cassie. I am just hoping so much for a Phillip/Beth reunion.

The last week of GL my BFF and I are going to lock ourselves in a room and watch each and every moment with pinot grigio in hand and cry until we run out of tears.

Hugs to you all

jordan hudson said...

Arizonagal,
I so wish I coule be with you both to watch the last week of GL. Robert Newman broke my heart when he told Reva "I know what your going through". He was so amazing that episode. The whole Spaulding storyline is just so perfect right now. This show truly got itself back on track. You are right so much heart. I too love the old timers. Lillian and Buzz always going at it, cracks me up. The things I would have done as head writer. This show has so much more to say. I would give Blake a real storyline and bring back her kids to beef up the teen storyline and .... well you get the idea. There is still life in the LIGHT!

As for AMC...... ughhh I feel so bad...I want to like Jamie Lunar but she is so NOT Liza. It makes me cry seeing Marian with her. When Marian said I don't know my daughter anymore..I was like that's because she isnt your daughter.

I love EBABE but the curls is not flattering on her. Adam Mayfield is wonderful. Why is Marian not on contract... oh they dont like mature people. I think they are trying to drive David Canary and Susan Lucci to quit by humiliating them with this trite material.

What hide Alicia's pregnancy. All that will happen is it will look like Kendall ate breakfast...I know that was mean but I couldn't resist. heheh

My scanner is broken. As soon as I get a new one will scan pics and have a facebook page. As far as who was nice honestly.... I don't remember anyone ebing rude all the time. Some people were friendlier the others. Sometimes you would catch them on the wrong day they are only human..... I will say that Susan Lucci was always gracious and giving to us. At OLTL Robin Strasser was outrageous so much fun. One tyime she came out after they shot a scene so someone could taker her picture. Dorian was in Jail and got in a food fight. She asked me to do it and then wanted several copies so she could send them to her fan club members. At Ryan's Hope Nancy Addison was so sweet to me. Loving Lauren Marie Taylor. GL Kim Zimmer AW Doulas Watson. One of my favorite pics was of Robin Christopher who played Sky. I so want to share the pics with you guys.

Laura said...

Jordan, I want to see your pics so bad. You said Sharon Gabet was so nice. I sometimes think of my fantasy soap opera league, with the top actors. Like they do with football and baseball. A lot of them sadly aren't on TV now.

Sharon Gabet, Louise Sorel would be on my list, also a whole lot of actors who unfortunately are no longer with us because of AIDS. Terry Lester, Joel Craruthers. And others who left us too soon, like the beautiful Nancy Addison and Michael Zaslow.

I have a sore throat and I can not talk, so venting on here is my verbal relief.

AMC, Ugh, aren't white newborns supposed to be hard to find? But yet Jake found one for Liza no problem!

I heard a Randi rumor, I won't post, but I can be sure she won't show any emotion over this, because she can't.

Remember that Fisher-Price Toy with the colored rings that you stacked. Everytime I see E-babe, I'm trying to figure out how many I could stack on her neck.

I started to like Guiding Light, but when I knew it was cancelled I didn't want to get invested. I loved Justin Deas on Ryan's Hope. Kim Zimmer can be a force of nature, but I like that about her.

Is it just me or is OLTL getting kind of bad lately? Maybe it's too much of that damn Stacy and her portable blood bank. I like a villian, but this story needs to end. How long have they drug out the Rex's dad story. Please get Roscoe Born on and be done with it.

When I saw it today, I kept thinking of how Fish and our Jordan should be together. He is my new gay crush behind Neil Patrick Harris, and Nate Burkus.

The big news in Chicago is they are going to have the play Billy Elliott here. Has anybody seen it. I want to go see the Addams Family with Nathan Lane, Bebe Newirth and the Lady that gave Marco the hard time about the condoms on OLTL. Jackie Hoffman, who also was great as the ticket lady at the Go Red Ball. It's here before going to Broadway.

Ashley is back and she is getting all “General Hospital” on us. I look foreword to azz-toot comments about life in Port Charles (the car accident on Monday was pretty spectacular). I can’t wait for the next podcast (whenever it is).

Jordan, I eagerly await the paparazzi shots of those daytime superstars on your Facebook page. Robin Christopher was another favorite of mine. She really should get more respect for taking Skye to all three ABC soaps. I know the miraculous Linda Dano made guest spots on all the shows when there were four soaps on ABC, but Sky was front burner on AMC, OLTL and GH for a while. And I loved her as Lorna on AW (Alicia Coppola was great in that role as well).

Too hot in the desert of California this week, it is nearly midnight and it is finally just dipped beneath 100 degrees on the thermometer. I am off to watch today’s episodes, puro vida everbody!

I have a question for GL fans...has John Driscoll always been this awkward?

(((Cough))) DiscoDan, that was John Driscoll?! --OK, this is going to take a bit of explaining---I haven't been watching GL, that many months, but I thought the guy looked familiar... You see, 'officially'--I watch 3 soaps AMC, GH and since Dec. GL. I keep up w/ OLTL & YR on soapnet.

...I guess, I didn't recognize him because of that really short, military-type haircut. The poor actor does seem sort of stilted, doesn't he?

When I started watching GL "Coop" was head over heals in love with/hot for Beth. And, when "Coop" lay dying, stilted would be the last word I'd use to describe those scenes.

Maybe it's just taking a few days for JD to 'get his feet wet', working on a new show...

And yes, my user name is brtedi and I am a soapaholic...LOL!

discodan said...

LOL thanks Brtedi, JD seems like he's phoning it in a lil bit.

Amph, I'm lovin me some GH right now. Those Corinthos kids are up to no good. You got Spixie, even though the marriage idea is a bit rushed....but I'll take it where I can get it, since this is the same soap that broke up my SKate and Liason, as well as Clic.

I just wish Carly hadn't been so hesitant to pull Claudia out. The Carly I knew would be on her hands and knees pulling Claudia outta that car because she knows first hand (That's how we first though Charlotte aka Reese died) that cars explode and such.

Sonny is pissing me off forcing Olivia to kiss him and such. I hate it. Get it off my screen. Now he's gotta go on his hands and knees and beg for Claudia's forgiveness for completely demoralizing the poor woman.

But the thing that I don't get is the promo where Claudia swears revenge against Michael for causing the accident. Didn't she get him shot? Seems like karma...or at least, fair game.

While I was watching OLTL yesterday, I noticed something funny about Farah Fath. Both of the soaps that she's been on, she was paired with a Rex. On DAYS, she was paired for a lil bit with Rex Brady (Roman and Kate's son), played by The Ugly Truth's Eric Winters, and now JPL. It's crazy

But she was pissed yesterday...I didnt think that last shove was really warrented because Stacy was kinda walking away, but I'm glad she fell down the stairs. Too bad she's the only one ever to survive that and still be pregoo...oops did I say that?

Shadow said...

Caught a few minutes of the show yesterday. Who is this Kendall? She's such a doormat these days. Would Kendall really take the wrap for a crime she didn't commit? No way. Would a wealthy woman as herself agree to legal representation by an inexperienced lawyer? Absolutely not. A lawyer who had sex with her husband on a black jack table less than 2 months ago? Hell no! Is Pratt the worst writer in AMC history? Hell yes!!

FIRE CHUCK PRATT!!

Since Chuck obviously doesn't have the storyline thought out before they start airing it, I keep hoping he'll rework it and divulge that Stuart's murder was a hoax and that Stuart is alive. He just tricked everyone to save Adam. It would be great too if they divulged that ManHands JaLu is actually Zarf pretending to be Liza after a sex change operation--hence the deep voice and manhands. Of course, even he had blonde hair...

Hey Ashley – I’m going to have to admit that I’m REALLY missing the podcast. My work has definitely been more boring over these past few weeks. (Congrats on the kiddies, and the one handed facilities break…)

Okay…I wasn’t going to say anything, but I can’t hold it in any longer. Not only does J-Lu have man hands, she has a man neck. Has anyone noticed how wide her neck is? It’s a good thing that she’s got long hair to cover that thing! Even her face looks overly muscular for a gal. She totally looks like a dude in drag. Seriously…just make the comparison for yourself when she’s sharing a scene with Miz Lucci. Erica is so tiny and petite (and perfectly proportioned), and J-Lu just looks like a steroidal beast next to her. They really shouldn’t have those two share the camera.

Next on my list is E-Babe. Jordan, I pretty much agree with you on everything since I started listening to the podcast, EXCEPT the hairdo on E-Babe. I actually like the slightly tousled look on her. Personally, I thought she looked like the cucumber (or was it a zucchini?) from Veggie Tales when her hair was straight. Also, has anyone noticed that E-Babe has muppet teeth? They’re all the same size and length! This said, maybe it’d be a good thing for her to choose Scott over Joonyer since Jordan’s nickname for Scott is “Beaker”! ;)

Shadow said...

GaeaGoddess: I'm with you on EBabe's locks. I like the curly 'do. Somehow it minimizes her tribal neck and her teeth which look like dentures to me. Don't get me wrong, she's a fine actress and she's no horse, but those chompers look fake. Sometimes I swear I hear them "click". But at least she isn't DBTE (Eyes of Stone Rancid)or possess the acting skills of a Turd (Colby), or write like she's illiterate (all together now):

Does anyone think that Emma's becoming a scene stealer lately...at one point today, when Erica was talking to her, I just wanted Emma to be the one doing the talking and telling Erica "Look, Erica...Kendall shot Stuart, leave my mommy the hell alone, and stay outta my daddy's pants. Got it?"

A word of advice for Emma...now that you are a central character in a storyline...act interested, although as of late, she's gotten better

Okay for some reaosn the curls on Ebabe was working for me during the outdoor scenes at the country club. I wasn't feeling it the first day with her dad indoors. LOl you are all ruthless I love it. She is cute in her own way!. I wouldn't compare her to a horse that would be the second Nina Courtland Heather STTTTTTTTTTAnford!

As long as there is no Laura Spencer I can never get back into GH. I hate that they destroyed and rewrote the history of Luke and Laura. And I hate the fact that Tony Geary supports it in the new TV Guide. Not Cool.

OMG ATWT has calmed down. As corny as the excuse is for Paul's behavior for the last two years. I'm willing to buy it if I can get the Paul and Meg back that made me start watching show. I tuned in to see the Gay boy Luke. But Meg, Paul, Will, Gwen, Maddie and Casey made me stay.

Okay the other soaps should be after Beth Chamberlain. She so needs to be on another soap working her magic.

Speaking of celebs, I remember an old interview with Susan Lucci. Someone asked her how it felt to be snubbed for an emmy year after year. I'll never forget what she said. Actually I can't remember word for word. But the essence was that she treasured all her losses because when she'd come home, her kid (kids?) and hubby would treat her so special and make her realize that she'd never be a loser. She strikes me as a sweet, sometimes insecure woman.

Oh and Laura, you mentioned Michael Zaslow and it broke my heart when he left GL. I so remember how everyone on the blogs was dissing MADD for firing him because he had developed a slight speech impediment due to the ALS. Wasn't it OLTL that hired Zas after that?

I watched AMC last night and it was completely forgettable. All of a sudden Amanda has her baby? What did I miss? Who is Jalu's baby" I'm confused. Oh, and are Amanda and Jake married?

discodan said...

Arizonagal, there were two babies. One is Amanda's. One is some random baby. It's dumb, yes I know.

You know having a baby is quite a miracle. It doesn't happen for everyone, at least not easily. Adopting a baby is a mind numbing, incredibly difficult process. Nevertheless, somehow Jake is able to pull cute little white babies out of his ass. That takes some skill.

discodan said...

Maybe this baby is Josh's....wait a second here...

What if Josh had an affair with a woman while he was in hiding...and this woman gave birth to a son...and Jake found all of this out and kidnaped that baby Paul Cramer-style... that would be better than Jake's magic babies.

I found this on the internet about Michael Z. I used to watch him sometimes on GL. He was so good. Wow where did the past 10 years go. ABC was good to him when he was sick, this had to be pre Frons. He was a better actor with no voice than that Rancid could ever hope to be. Daytime Confidential and our friend Jamie called her out in the last two podcasts. Go Jamie.

Michael Zaslow Dies at Age 56

But Michael was best know for his work on Guiding Light and One Life to Live, for which he received four Daytime Emmy nominations and won the award for Lead Actor in 1994. From 1971 to 1980 and then again from 1989 to 1997, Michael played the role of Roger Thorpe on Guiding Light. In 1997, when the symptoms of his disease became noticable, but before he had be officially diagnosed, Michael was let go from Guiding Light. He found a new home at One Life to Live, where he had previously played the popular character, David Renaldi, from 1983 to 1986. discodan, gotta agree with you on this...Oddly, there are times when I really like Sonny. For example when he was flanked by Max and Milo as he verbally defended Michael at the country club. (Don't you just want to see Sonny intimidate the heck out of that Keifer twitt, after he finds out the boy struck Kristina?!) But, I digress.

Sonny was comin' after Olivia with all the charm and subtlety (spelling?) of a pitbull in heat!((Ick!))) The saving grace of that moment was how Olivia backed away as if she'd gotten a face full of 'Sonny repelant'--Kudos to the actress.

I've watched GH for approximately 9 years, that was only the second time, "Sonny" completely creeped me out. The first was when he took up with Emily...Kack!

The whole “who shot Stuart” thing is getting old. Mainly because the writing isn’t nearly good enough to sustain this kind of a plot. I’m certain that the intention was to make it suspenseful, but in reality, they’re treating the demise of a beloved character as a joke with the Annie, Kendall, Emma subplot.

I agree with DiscoDan – Emma has become a scene stealer, and she’s not nearly good enough to pull it off. (No offense to the kiddo – she’s awfully cute!) To give credit where credit is due, Emma did a great job in the scene where Ryass caught her on the phone and asked her who she was talking to. The kid looked genuinely stunned.

Hey Pratt – are you listening? Why don’t you do the only reasonable thing here? Stop this ridiculous plot and have Emma be the one that shot Stuart. This way, Kendall won’t go to prison (although I was looking forward to the women’s prison scenes – plus she’s got some wicked street cred with that crazy plastic scar), Zach will stop transitioning into a hairy Minotaur (did I hear that he’s got a contract to run with the bulls in Pamplona next year?), Annie will do…whatever Annie will do (as long as it’s not marrying Adam – I can’t possibly be the only one that has to suppress a bad case of the willies when these two kiss), and Emma will go to Juvie, then resurface next year as a disturbed pre-teen. After all, we’re talking about Pine Valley years here. (I think they might be similar to dog years…)

brtedi, I loved the scene where Sonny, Milo and Max intimidated the country club guy. And the reactions on Carly and Michael's faces were fantastic.

But you're right. Sonny forcing himself on Olivia is terrible. What makes Bob Guza think that people wanna see this? And then acting like the concerned husband? If I were Johnny, I would have beat him right then and there, in that lil hospital cubicle.

You didn't like Sonny and Emily? Yes it was a little gross, but it did provide some good drunken quotes.

Emily: "I...I wanna...I wanna bang you" LMAO

GaeaGoddess, someone at the AMC casting office obviously isn't taking a page from the almighty book of Mark Teschner. Their kids aren't as strong as GH, OLTL....heck Y&R's kids are better. (That lil Summer is breakin my heart lately)

I wonder if someone's planning a crossover and have whoever killed Stuart also be the same person that fathered Rex, because we haven't seen anything to disprove that, or think that these people aren't one and the same person.

brtedi said...

"Emily: 'I...I wanna...I wanna bang you' LMAO"---

discodan--I'll give you that one...It was a very funny moment between Emily and Sonny on his couch...Thanks for the flashback. I'd forgotten about that scene. :-)

Gaea goddess! :-)

Oh, I think, you're on to something! With Alisha Minshew having a bun in the oven, There will be no Coma Kendall 3.0. She's going to the big house!--Prison!!!--I'd say, eventually, for about 3 months...Couldn't her trial keep getting postponements???

In Pratt land anything is ,indeed, possible. Consider, the additional adoptable baby that 'magically' appears out of thin air (or in our case a thin plot) so that Amanda can suddenly keep hers--

After, maybe, a re-trial...Can we honestly bare that? :-( Kendall will be off to prison --and return, a la Erica Kane, in one of those figure forgiving orange jump suits, util she is, regrettably, back to her pre-double cheeseburger weight...Personally, I think, she'd look fabulous if whe actually did leave a few pounds on...JMHO.

OK, on to GL...If Philip isn't Alan's biological son, could Alan have arranged to raise the son of the late solder who took his place, in Vietnam?-- I have no idea. i wasn't watching back then.

I think TIIC should bring back Bucktooth Boogerface aka Bucktooth Boobianca aka Tori, curl her hair, and let her assume the role of Kendall while Alicia M is on maternity leave. Ha! I love that girl. I would love seeing a hot makeout scene with her and Zach or Ryan.

Or have Bianca come back (without Reese) to help take care of Spike and Ian, then she starts a fling with Insannie. NOW we’re talkin’! Unconventional? Yes. But it would at least take care of the barfy feeling I get with the whole Annie/Adam thing. I’m suppressing a willie just typing this…

Ugh. I feel weak…

Last word on GH from me for a while: Sonny is despicable, but he is fascinating. I don’t think any other daytime show could do that character. He was a two-bit hood that ruthlessly moved up to mob boss. Another show would have reformed him and he’d be running a bar or would go to JaLu’s law school and be D.A... The performance is flawless; he is vain and passionate, flawed, unsophisticated and charismatic as heck. The character does eat the show alive however, and daytime simply cannot pull off “Sopranos Lite” on a daily basis, there are too many restrictions on content for that to have any veracity. Skate was a much better pairing than whatever they are calling Sonny and Olivia. The show needs contrast-- one white knight to stand up to all the darkness. I hope they make Dominic an undercover fed--the mob is chocking the life out of this sometimes-great show.

Brtedi..in regarsd to Phillip. We know who his parents are. He is actually a Marler. Ross Marler, nephew. Making him Dinah's Cousin. It was an incredible storyline back in the day. Alan has always loved Phillip as his own.
Today's OLTl was perfection, the right blend of humor and drama. Character driven. So many great moments. I loved how everyone in this town interacts with each other. From Sean breakign up Tea and Blair. Then going and having his own drama with his brother. Matthew announcing that Tea is his Lawyer. The scenes between Nora and Tea were flawless. I loved Dorian with Todd. Poor Starr finding out her parents had sex over the baby moniter priceless. So many great moments.

Then there is AMC. Honestly I did not mind Mon thru Wed...why? because Randi was not on. Today she is back and I could not stay awake. The episode was boring and annoying. I'm tired of these adults terriorizing Emma. I hate how they are writing Erica. She is a woman of a certain age not a teenager. It's insulting to the fans of Erica Kane but more importantly it is an insult to Susan Lucci. The same goes for David Canary who is being written as a teenage horndog. It is disgusting to me what Pratt is doing. I'M NOT AMSUED!

Arizonagal the powers that be at the time FIRED Michael Z. because of his ilness. People were disgusted by that move. He was still able to work. He had only started to show signs. OLTL brought back his character and incorporated Michael Z. illness with his character. He played David Renaldi Cassi Kramer's biological father.

RE: GL and Sayne's proposal, I cried like beeyotch.

Jordan, isn't it somewhat known on OLTL who Rex's father is? Or at least there is a prevailing theory of an old character??? I have a guess, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone, plus I don't think the actor is available. I haven't heard this brought up anywhere else lately. Think this will be a big surprise sometime soon?

OLTL was stupendous yesterday. I loved every single moment. I didn't watch AMC and I'm not entirely sure I want to. Is it worth it?

discodan said...

Shadown, some stuff on AMC made me laugh yesterday. InsAnnie went off on Ryan...that was fantastic.

The Brot/Frankie stuff was good.

Other than that, it was a lot of terrorizing Emma, and I hate that. HATE HATE HATE THAT. Leave that poor lil girl alone. We got Erica, Liza, Kendall, and Zach all in her face...I'm surprised that this girl hasn't snapped.

Michael said...

Amen discodan, I loved Annie's smackdown on Ryan, thought the Emma stuff was creepy BUT, who was that woman trying to keep Jalu at bay? Surely not Ms. Erica Kane-she could wipe up the floor with that twit-without phoning up a man to help her.

HEY PRATTHOLE Watch GL today's episode so that you can learn how to write a real goodbye to a character.

Today on GL the town said Goodbye to Jeffrey in what was a heart wrenching episode. I cried and all I could think about was this is how it should have been when Stuart and even Josh were killed off. PRATTHOLE YOU SUCK!!!!! Your killing MY AMC. You dumbass!!!!!

Regarding Rex's daddy..... I think everyone is thinking it should be that evil man ....... at this point it would have to be a character who is from the past and has had an influence on the residents of Llanview if not then they really built this up for nothing. I really hope they got their &*^% together for this storyline . It's been a long buildup.

discodan said...

Anyone else wanna put money on the "Mitch Lawrence" theory?

Laura said...

On OLTL remember when Natalie and Jessica were told by the crazy lady she had a big secret about Jessica. This was during the writers strike so this story line was dropped. If Mitch is Rex's son, then he and Jessica would be half-brother and sister.

More possible donors for Shayne along with the Stacy spawn.

Y&R has been good, but boy do I miss Drucilla. I can only imagine her right now. She pissed off the wrong people but I love you Victoria Rowell.

Oh and I am worried about not seeing poor Kitty Benson again.

I haven't really watched AMC lately, it's been horrible. Fire Pratt!

Arizonagal said...

Jordan, I am hoping to GOD that Jeffrey is not dead and before Sept 18th he's going to come walking out of the surf and up on to a beach somewhere. However, considering the show is ending, what do they have to lose by killing off this character?

IMHO Jeffrey is one of those characters that was so disposable for so many years. But, something happened to him when he was paired with Kim Zimmer. Lo and behold, Bradley Cole CAN act and I fell in love with Jeffrey and Reva.

Consider me one of those folks that doesn't want a Reva/Josh reunion. I love the fact that they can move on and be good friends. It's how life really works sometimes. It's not a fairy tale, it's an adult relationship and an adult storyline that is so believable. It's what GL does best - the adults behave like adults and we love them for it.

I am just dreading Sept 18th and can't believe this rich piece of history is going away. What a friggin waste.

And because this is an AMC blog, and I posted this in the wrong place... I love Alicia Minshew, BUT she's gotta stop shopping the Jaclyn Smith collection at Kmart. She has some ugly ass dresses. Not only are they not flattering, but they look cheap. Someone mentioned she's 35 yrs old and at this rate, she is never going to have the elegance and the class, the style that her mom has and always had.

Speaking of Looch, she looked smashing in that red ruffly dress and she is as gorgeous as ever.

Annie is getting foxier every day, that hair, wow. When MCE first started I thought, here we go, another boring blond. She sure has made up for those days nitial impressions!

Last, these aren't spoilers, just rumors... Gina Tognoni may go back to OLTL as Kelly (woohoo!).

Crystall Chappell is being romanced by the YR execs. I swear, I will watch is she goes to YR.

Daniel Cosgrove has caught the interest of OLTL execs, can't remember who he'd be, a Buchanan I think. I hope, I hope.

discodan said...

Arizonagal, Crystal Chappell is going to DAYS. She's already signed and everything...and Daniel Cosgrove is going to play Joey Buchanan on OLTL.

Arizonagal said...

Discodan, that Crystal Chapell news sucks. I'm going to have to drown my sorrows in a jug o wine when I get off work!

Does anyone here watch DOOL? I haven't watched since Marlene was possessed by the devil and then everyone was not dead but was on an island, that just lost me.

discodan said...

I pay attention to stories on DAYS...it's not great, but it's not terrible either. Her return should instill a lil life in Bo and Hope as well as getting Daniel away from Chloe. But they do seem to be setting up a lot of medical personelle. (Daniel, Lexi, Nathan, Carly, Melanie)

Mel Got Served said...

I used to be a diehard Days fan until a bit of time after the Salem Stalker. Once they "killed" Alice Horton with her trademark donut, I was just so furious. Plus I was a big Shawn and Belle fan and they weren't together and Kirsten Storms was gone. And at that time, the babyswap was going on on AMC/OLTL to I started to transition over.

I've been tuning in more lately and have to say... it's much improved. Plus, they got Lindsay Hartley from Passions and while Passions was no prize, Lindsay was A+++ as Theresa. She had chemistry with everyone and was so beautiful.

And now Days is bring back Carly AND Justin? It's pretty good, unless they completely ignore and ruin them like Patch/Kayla, John/Marlena, etc.

Funny how Days has more hospital than General Hospital!

Shadow said...

I think Cameron M, MCE and JaLu all need bronzer interventions. They are all sort of Oompa Loompa orange.

Michael said...

I grew up with DOOL, AW and AMC. I have kindergarten memories of Doug and Julie, Alice and Marlena, but Days got so bad under James Reilly that I had to stop watching it. The most inane, mind-numbing material you could possibly imagine on a daily basis. I am not talking about supernatural stuff, that’s fine if it’s done right. I am talking about people walking into a room all by themselves and just talking out loud about what is going on with their character?!? Some fortune teller woman running around with a box of Hope’s memories in little test tubes?!? A “swamp girl” that wrestles alligators in the bayou one week and then is prancing around town in a mohair belly shirt the next?!? Green, day players given pages of dialog to deliver so, so badly. The great Louise Sorel dressed up like a box of French fries for a cheap laugh. Arrrargh! The show only scored pathos when it tried to be funny and belly laughs when it was trying for pathos. I never thought I could walk away from a soap that I enjoyed but, in the end, I ran away from that one. I hear its much better now, but I am done with it.

Ha, I just saw Shadow's bronzer line-LOL!

Just caught up on today's episode of All My Children...oy. I really wish I could feel something for Randi...I really do but it's just not happening. Who is this man that calls himself Jesse running around PV manhandling women and answering to Zach. It's feeling to me like he's their servant just there to do what they want and it grates my nerves.

Poor little catatonic Emma. All these adults seriously need to fall back.

I FF thru Ryan's scenes and unfortunately that means Ms. Lucci's too most of the time. I feel sorry that she has to play this crap.

MCE is looking hot lately with those bangs. However that Pocahontas short outfit...not really working. I loved how she played with Adam when he accused her of killing Stuart. I would rather see a father/daughter relationship with those two than a romantic one...ew.

Where did this David/JaLu thing come from all of a sudden? I need this murder mystery over and done with...like ASAP.

I think Rex's dad is definitely Mitch Lawrence. Why else would they have all this buildup and who else is as evil as Roxy keeps saying Rex's dad is? Plus he has a connection with Roxy because he gave Natalie to her. I guess that's when Rex was conceived, but I'm not sure who is supposed to be older, Nat or Rex. Rex has never hooked up with Jessica and they wouldn't test her blood so the door is open for them to be half siblings. It's gotta be him. Enough buildup, what are they waiting for??? Reveal already!

Mel Got Served said...

"RE: GL and Sayne's proposal, I cried like beeyotch."

Jordan, man, did I have a reaction to that proposal!

Just this evening, I re-watched the scenes, to catch the bits I missed.

First and formost I loved the way the scenes were written and performed! You know its a good storyline, when you aren't strictly paying attention to just the performances, but you get into what the characters are doing.

Humorously speaking, as a fan, when you're watching a really good soap moment, don't snack...Undetered by Dinah's reasons for not getting married, when, Shayne got down on one knee, I nearly dropped the Hershey Bar I'd been eating. I felt really silly. Heck, I thought Shayne was doing very well, before he knelt down...

Then when Dinah said "No", that caught me a little by surprise,I was like,"What!". The same Hershey Bar 'went down the wrong pipe'--I can see the epitaph now: "She was done in by a candybar and her favorite daytime soap!" --LOL!

As for the scenes, I liked how Shayne kept trying, even when Dinah expressed doubts about herself and 'not being good for Shayne'....I was like, "Atta boy, keep swingin!"

Jordan, the last time I had that kind of Reaction to a scene, was during "Another World", when "Ryan Harrison" was in the hospital, after being shot by his brother, "Grant". Ryan & Vicky were discussing wedding plans, when Ryan suddenly--died!

Having an "actor crush" on Paul Michael Valley, at the time, I was exceedingly pleased that he remained on the show for about 6 more months as "Ryan's ghost". :-D

mell got served--Speaking of DOOL, I'd read in an interview that TPTB warned Francis Reed, That "Alice" was to be killed and that it was only a temporary situation--and that she wasn't actually being fired...She was the only cast member given the heads up...But, to kill "Alice" with her own doughnuts???!--I didn't know that...That was just sooo wrong! "Mrs. H.'s" doughnuts were sort of an instution on Days...

I'd quit watching the show by yjr time the entire town was 'killed off'---Back when Marlena got possessed, that was enough for me!!

My mom and grandma--along with most of my aunts--watched DOOL. When 3 or 4 years old (and couldn't tell time yet) I knew it was time to eact lunch, when McDonald Carey's voice began each episode...

My earliest 'soap mwmory' involved "Julie" (back in her 'pre-Doug' days) arguing with "Susan" (Denise Alexander) over a mutual boyfriend, played by actor Peter Brown.

Mel Got Served said...

The rumor I heard was indeed Spencer Truman, which seems like such a random person, but a big villain of the last few years, so could see it being true. Plus they made a point to include him in the 1968 story.

Well I'm glad they gave Frances a heads up, but yes, James E Reilly had the Salem Stalker (who ended up being Marlena) choke Alice on her trademark donuts, which to me was in such poor taste. Luckily this last "murder" was the one that showed everyone was alive, but after that story, I was so pissed at being jerked around. They had offed several of my favorites just for the sake of plot, then miraculously saved them. Yawn! Anger! Stupid story. That show eventually became all about plot and nothing about the heart of the characters, which is why I drifted away.

brtedi said...

"Last, these aren't spoilers, just rumors... Gina Tognoni may go back to OLTL as Kelly (woohoo!)."

Oh, I do hope that's where she's headed! As a soap fan, that would delight me to no end (Plus the fact that I wouldn't have to start up with an entirely new soap, yet again. But, I have to admit GL/Gina Tognoni and Jeff Branson was well worth the switch) I think, I'd really enjoy her version of "Kelly".

If it is Spencer Truman, that would make sense because I heard, not too long ago, that Lindsay Rappaport will make an appearance soon.

true or not... I just want to know who his daddy is!!!

Laura said...

Catherine Hickland has said on her facebook page she is coming back. After that whole who killed Spencer Truman mess, and now we have another stupid mystery. Mitch Lawrence makes more sense to me. Plus he plays evil so good.

Ashley thank goodness for you weren't pregnant at the same time as Alicia, how discusting would it be to look at your huge belly, when this chick will probably look like most people after a big dinner. I notice they are showing the scar and it looks pretty good. She must be using Mederma!

I am starting to watch the last four episodes of Dirty Sexy Money tonight. I liked that show mostly because of that hottie Blair Underwood. I was sorry to see that show cancelled. My new show is Hung. I wish I had showtime, but you got to cut costs somewhere.

I just got the new iphone and there is an app called TV.com that lets me watch the previous day's young and restless. It like hulu for CBS but it's on the iphone. Waiting for hulu to come to iphone. I do sometimes watch/listen to OLTL on youtube.

discodan said...

Yes, but how do u explain a dead man....legit dead, getting stabbed repeatedly after trying to rape an unconscious Blair and found by Rex at the scene of the crime, is actually alive in some clinic somewhere?

Besides, Spencer already had a son...Hugh, and they killed him for no reason too....poor Hugh. I miss him.

Dancing Elf. Believe it or not someone on the writing team did their homework. The David Jalu connection is actually part of their history. He was even willing to kill her husband Adam so they could be together...Yes Mctrashvish was writing the show at the time can you tell.

The Assistant DA is a broadway actor. He seems like a decent actor. Back in the day a lot of the actors came from theatre.

Also in need of bronzer intervention: Taylor. Amanda is worrying about baby proofing Taylor's house. The kid is like 3 weeks old. Stoopit.

Erica talking about fathers to Emma would be touching and sad if she just wasn't trying to screw over Emma. Emma sneaking into Erica's purse? Love it. Would have preferred Crazy Kat's storyline, but Crazy Emma is OK as long as she's more InsAnnie and less Ryass.

Person most in need of a bronzer? Kendall. She's a ghost.
