Daytime Emmy Mania!

Okay, so maybe it wasn't mania. Okay, fine - the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards (as hosted by the been-there-done-that Regis Philbin) barely made a ripple on the entertainment scene. Me, I caught the last 20 minutes and got my Twitter on, so I was, uh, content. (Susan Lucci's black dress alone made me happy.)

This week, we'll talk the Emmy's that weren't, the All My Children that was, and the other daytime (and nightime) shows interesting enough to merit the title of "drama." (And please pardon the crappy sound. I still haven't taken Ms. Pat's advice and purchased a new mic for my new Mac, and we actually used my iPhone headset to record. Seriously.)

In the meantime, do your thing, dear viewers and listeners, here.

Yaaaahhhhhhhh! a new episode. I can't wait to listen. This makes Monday morning all worthwhile. Thanks Ashley & Jordan.

The best thing about the emmys for me was Billy Miller getting some love and recognition.

I'm so sorry for your loss Jordan. You are so right that experiences like that remind us that each day we are given is a gift.

Sending you lots of sunny, positive Canadian energy.

Today in Toronto some same-sex couples from the United States got married on a float during the annual Gay Pride parade. Do you think they might have been inspired by OLTL and the big gay group wedding?

Wow, finally finished watching OLTL and AMC, and WOW! First off, our adorable Annie was delish in that black dress and little hat. gorgeous. Mousy Marissa is quite entertaining as well.

One complaint, this show is right now screaming for HIllary. She is so needed right now, why isn't she here?! I have heard she'd come back if TPTB asked her.

On OLTL a terrific week and a mad cap friday. Only minor complaint is I don't like the James Ford character, he bores me. And do we know, who really did attack Ford? Did I miss something? I like Ford's human side.

Come on now, Jessica is just not selling her expertise as a crime scene investigator. Not buying it, seemed forced and corny.

What about Hannah, she's been so great lately, so fun to watch, I hope she sticks around.

Ford and David in dueling/matching swim trunks was too much humor and hotness.

happy 4th every one, we did nothing this evening except walk the dogs and stay inside, but it was a great day anyway!

I loved the podcast, as always. Every time I watch AMC, I always think: What will Ashley & Jordan say about this?

Ryan and Greenlee reunion? Say it isn't so!!! No, No, No! I hope it's short lived. I'll be fast forwarding through all their scenes until they're over. I've been liking Ryan and Greenlee scenes lately, but I ONLY like them as friends. I think there are more viewers out there that were wishing for a reunion though. I've been reading AMC comments on other sites, and most of the folks are routing for it, unfortunately.

As far a Caleb, I like him. And I'd rather Erica be with him than with Jackson. Jackson, she's already been there, done that, over and over and over. I'd like to see them with other people now.

Poor Marissa. If they would just make her turn to the dark side, just like her dad, it certainly would make things even more steamy.

I like Madison. I don't want her to go. I just think they're not utilizing her properly. I think if they changed direction a bit with her, they can make her a bit more reedemable. On soaps, there really isn't too much a character can do that can make you unreedemable. Almost everyone has done heinous things more than once. I would love to see a Madison/Frankie pairing. Kick Randi to the curb!

I'm not hating the new Binks. It will take a while to adjust though. I can't help comparing all the scenes she does to the real Bianca, wondering how the real Bianca would have played it. But I have high hopes for the new one. I think I'll eventually accept her too, as a real Bianca. But just as Ashley pointed out, I just wish she would throw us the word, "gonna," once in a while.

I love the Tad/Liza/Damon/Colby story. I LOVE Damon's character. I also now believe that this Liza is also the real Liza. And I love how Colby seems to be more into Damon than Damon is to her. It's such a realistic SL.

Well, I thought I saw what was the end of OLTL…Langston and Ford… on Friday’s eppy. After reading all of the comments here at PVP, I caught the real end on SOAPnet, this morning.Holy smoke…Eli…Ford…a setup!

Arizonagal said...

Jordan, I am dying to hear what you think of Friday's OLTL ending. I never saw it coming. What do you think about this plot twist?? Does this mean he's Ford's attacker or is he just plotting to set up Hannah and if so, why?

Thank you. It is still heavy on my heart. Thanks for your thoughts.

Arizonagal...Just like everyone else I'm clueless to what Friday's ending means over all. Needless to say I will be home to watch OLTL live today.

OLTL was so great last week.

Will blog later with a longer message for everyone.

Thanks for the new podcast Jordan and Ashley! You two always brighten my days and put a HUGE goofy looking grin on my face.

Line of the day on today's AMC:
Annie to JR: "What up with the bag? And by bag, I don't mean Marissa."

Whoever is writing the snarky dialogue these days deserves some props.

Just to clear things up for Ashley, wasn't Krystal's best scene from last year: "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you, David Hayward!" When she was being milked by David. I recall your reenactment of the scene.

Hey all, Just finished listening to the podcast… so happy you two found the time to crank one out, we so appreciate it. Ok so here we go:
1) “Tune in Tomorrow” is not a Canadian show, it is Soaps In Depth executive editor Richard M. Simms’ call in internet show, that he then posts as a podcast. I was on the post- Emmy Madness episode, here is the link http://tobtr.com/s/1126226
2) You guys so deserve all the attention that we can throw your way, not only have you created a fun and entertaining podcast but an amazing community. I am so grateful for the wonderful people we have met through the blog. Hopefully, you two will get a paying gig out this one day.
3) Sorry for the horrible accident, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
4) My mom says Ash “pump baby, pump” that’s how you will get through it LOL
5) Daytime Emmys: Jordan, Rob Lowe and Snow White would have been a step up. Also, don’t blame Regis, he could only read what was written for him and he was barely given time. Yes, Kelly should have been a great co-hosted but I believe she was on vacation in Italy with gorgeous hunk of a husband. Wouldn’t you rather be there with mark than the Emmy Awards? Did you love the salute to Zack during the Lion King number? All I could think of was the tornado and little Simba… oh I meant Gabby’s big entrance. Susan Lucci looked great in the black dress but Chrishell stole the show, she looked like an Emmy Goddess in that gold dress.
6) NuBinx, is working out. She plays both the vulnerability of Bianca but there are shades of Erica’s daughter to her. I will always love Eden but I think this girl is a good second choice, much better than Sabine. BTW Binx is not that innocent, even forgetting about Zack’s sperm fiasco, she did kill a man. Yes, it was self-defense but still she killed a man. Let’s not forget that
7) Overall, the show is working. We hate and think it would work better without Kaleb (AKA Mountain Zack) and Randy. We want to see Maddison with Frankie, Ryan with someone new, David with Greens, Erica with Jack etc…

9) One more thing, even Cameron would have been a step up as host. He would have been a better fit as Regis does not do well scripted. You have to let him just be himself.

Whoever did that dream sequence w/ JR/Annie/Marissa deserves huge kudos. That was awesome to watch.

LOL at Caleb w/ the shotgun.

Shadow said...

As if anyone in Liza’s place wouldn’t immediately delete those pictures on
Damon’s phone!

Caleb is a terrible whittler.

Erica’s boobs look odd today. They aren’t working together.

NoBoobianca looks like Lesbian Laura Ashley today.

So instead of fighting Greenlee at Fusion Erica is going to fight Fat Ass Caleb at Courtland Electronics.

The first thing they need to do is change the name of Courtland Electronics to something more current. Electronics is so 1980-something.

Ebabe understands JR needs time and she needs to study for the bar exam. She should blow off the bar exam and blow him all weekend in the cabin. She so doesn’t get it.

Caleb looks like he smells bad and eats Twizzlers all day.

Wow, Wildwind must use the same shitty security company that Adam Chandler uses.

Damon’s not real father Paul is so two dimensional. They should set Paul up with Reese’s mother and bring Hilary back for Tad.

Bianca took Kendall’s husband’s sperm so Kendall may not be as enthusiastic about Bianca’s decision to helm Fusion. At least maybe now we’ll get a break from Erica vs. Greenlee.

Those pictures of Natalia are horrible.

I sensed a little chemistry between Opal and Fat Ass Caleb.

Seriously? A pay phone?

Is Fat Ass Caleb at the zoo?

And does Erica wear white every time she runs into Fat Ass Caleb?

Shadow said...

I mean, why does Erica wear white every time she runs into Fat Ass Caleb?

Damon, Liza & Colby s/l is playing out really well. I don't need to see Paul anymore. Tad punching him and going to jail was OTT.

Loving Angie and the way they have been filming her.

Love the return to character centric shows like they used to do back in the day--like the Angie/Jessie shows.

AMC is doing a really good job. Love Opal having some depth. Wish she had her own s/l.

Very little Denise Vasi!

I even like Jack and his head isn't bobbling so much.

I'm almost ready for Kendall's return. Just hope she doesn't take over.

Wish Crishelle would stop screwing with her hair. She is still the hottest thing in daytime.

This bugged me. David and Greenlee get evicted from Wildwind and they are just locked out? They don't have a chance to go in, get some clothes, their prescriptions, laptops, personal items. Instead of being outraged, they shrug it off and go to this dinky little room at the yacht club, which doesn't even look like a suite? Puhlease, Redic, how lame. I hate it when TIIC pull this shit. I do like a modicum of believability. And why wasn't Greenlee pissed off? She goes from a mansion to 100 sq ft and no privacy from a man she clearly does not love. I could not even do this with my husband for any length of time. Everyone needs their space, married or not.

Ashley, hang in there with OLTL. There is plenty of good stuff mixed in with the bad. If you can endure a few minutes of Starr and James, you get rewarded with David and Dorian. I loved the Blair/Eli scenes in the cabana. Not sure how I feel about Eli being a bad guy, actually, not quite sure if he is, but I've always wondered why this guy isn't on contract, now we know.

Greasy lips Gigi wants to go to school. Truly barfworthy SL. I don't want to be mean, but Gigi/Farah Fath, does not exude even average intelligence, either as an actress or as her character. This girl is not college material. Okay, I feel a rant coming on here. Obviously Farah Fath is more concerned about her hair/makeup than she is with any written material. This girl is almost the Denise Vasi of OLTL.

I am never ready for Kendall's returns. Don't like her, never did. I do think, however, that if written by an actual talented writer, perhaps Kendall is a tolerable character. Not ready for Zach's return either. He was an okay guy at first, but damn did he cross that line and become a major a$$hole.

I don't think Caleb is so fat. He's fat for an actor maybe, but not fat for a real person.

And speaking of fat, I have a new avatar, for a few days anyway. I bought my cat a stroller so we could take those long walks in the desert. Should've changed shirts before hubby took this pic, horizontal stripes are not my friend.

Arizonagal, I'm so with you on Kendall. I for one and not excited to have Kendall back, hogging all the air time. I am pretty sure she'll be Zach-less this time around so who knows what they'll do with her.

What confuses me about the Wildwind situation is doesn't David OWN Wildwind? Was he just renting? Did he just steal the keys from Julia's grave? I'm no real estate expert, but pretty sure Palmer can't buy Wildwind if David owns it.

Mel, I think Jack mumbled something sbout Wildwind the other day. If I recall correctly, I think Maria ended up owning Wildwind last although lately they have just referred to the Grey Family as the owners. Jack said the Grey family contacted Palmer about buying Wildwind. Palmer bought it for Caleb and so after closing Greenlee and David were evicted. Very convenient timimg. Seems like someone would have tipped them off. At the very least, assuming they were current on rent, they would have been on a month to month lease and entitled to 30 days' notice. They could so for having their possessions converted unlawfully. Plot contrivance!!

As for Big Fat Caleb, it's not that he'd obese or anything. They have just gone out of their way go make him so unkempt and woodsy with the flannel and denim overshirts, whittling in the mansion, eating with his mouth open snarling, sneering and all that BS. Erica has been screwing lanky old Jackson for tears. He's 7 feet tall and probably has a Johnson that hangs to the floor. Caleb is a pudgy mess with bushy hair, no manners and a tool mire like a cheesewheel if you can locate it. How would the Diva of Wrica's stature ever fall fir someone who acts and carries himself so repulsively. If he were refined at all I could but it, but like do many new characters, he's way over the top. He's a total pig who has shown no thread of intellectual finesse or social grace or stoic manliness that any of her other men have displayed. The bear in the woods she stared down had more depth and a nicer coat. I like the theory, but I'm not buying the way it's played out so far. I give Lucci props for her part. I agree with Jordan that they really haven't thought it all through yet.

I hear you all about Kendall. She hasn't been my fave for a long long time. I do think the show can benefit from her though. The show needs all the Kanes. It's the only family that is the most nuclear. All the Martins at Tad's are sort of a rag tag collection if semi related peeps. Ditto Chandlers. They all seem more like youth hostels now. The Kanes are mother/Child. The Hubbards are pretty normal by soap standards I guess. The show is just light on heavyweights these days and could benefit from some core character star power. I just hope whatver she gets into it bears little resemblence to her stories the past few years. I hope while she was away she lathered herself in Mederma and got rid of that nasty fake scar. I hope Zach leaves her and gets custody of their 12 deaf mute kids. And I hope she, like Greenlee, gets her bitch on and drops the whiny, busybody stuff.

Shadow said...

And seriously, are these storylines not TOTALLY screaming for Hilary and Marian to return? So much talk about them. So much happening because of or in reference to their pasts. How can AMC not bring them back for even limited runs? Man, Jennifer Bassey would be astounding counseling the clan re Damon. And we're supposed to believe Hilary would just let all this happen without a call? A visit? An email? Bullshit! That isn't the Hilary we knew. I'm thinking that's where LoBro was going and the new writers nixed it for some reason. Sigh. So good, bit the obvious opportunities missed annoy me. Glad LoBro is still here. Her work stands out. It almost seems like 2 different shows. But LoBro's half is waaaaay better.

I am hoping there's more to Caleb than just a slovenly bum living like a pig in a barn. I think he's more of an eccentric, well educated societal dropout (I hope). Then I could see Erica falling for him. If he's just a dumb hayseed from Pigeon Hollow, then this is ridic! Palmer wasn't stupid, would he leave his biz to someone with no education? Ugh, I don't even know if I care about this SL.

I do care about the Tad/Damon SL. I agree, Shadow, Hillary and Marion are so needed on the canvas right now. It bugs me that Hillary's absence is painting her in such a harsh light, like she just doesn't care about Damon. This is her son, there's no way she'd let Tad adopt this kid, come on writers, get this one right!!! Bring back Carmen Thomas for pete's sake.

Jordan,. I have to agree with you. I’m not big on Caleb, either. Michael Nouri needs to return to NCIS, occasionally, as “Ziva David’s” father.

In the latest preview of AMC, where we see “Ryan and Greenlee” reunite---That’s an old clip. Cameron Mathison and Rebecca Budig were wearing brown/winter colors. And, Cameron wore a sweater in that clip...It’s not ‘sweater season’ in Pine Valley, right now.;-)

On another topic, Hot In Clevland is a real treat! There’s nothing like excellent writing and a cast of award winning, seasoned, comic actors making a show come together . TPTB associated with regular network television should be kicking themselves for letting this one get away.

Anybody see the advertisement for the "What If" series on soapnet.com? It's definitely piqued my interest.

I noticed yesterday that Caleb's hair was combed. You know eventually they are going to make him over. It's all overdone for now. With Tad/Damon/Liza/Colby Lorraine was on to something interesting and incorporating some history irrespective of whether or not they used the same actress as Hilary. Obviously, the new writers would rather not proceed with that and instead bring on another Damon look-a-like for another version if the same old story that has been told 1000 times before. Caleb was unecessary when they could have brought in Ross. I think the reason they didn't bring in Ross was because they wanted to create a new love interest for Erica first and foremost. In essence, it's really justmore plot driven circumstance. They are writing situations to fit a plot goal, albeit much better than Pratt's plot driven crap. If they truly had a thought out story to advance organically with the necessary, natural characters we expect to see, then Ross and Hilary and Marian would be on canvas. I think it is very obvious when Lorraine's material airs. I think the breakdown writing, pacing, character mix and new sets--bedrooms-BJs--Erica's apt.--have helped immensely and so much so that the show seems more improved than it actually is. I credit them with slow playing and not shoving things down our throats. They are obviously listening and trying to make the right choices. Donna is a decent writer. Obviously more people are involved who have knowledge of history, but they need to do more than throw out buzz words and give it lip service, especially in Damon's case. Hilary in particular is just too noticeably absent. Nobody cares about Paul. Caleb needs to go ahead and have his metamorphosis if he is to have any credibility. I still have a hard time believing Palmer would give Courtland Electronics to Caleb over his own seed--Nina, Pete, Ross--or that they wouldn't come back kicking and screaming about it, even if they did get a large cash payment from Palmer's estate. And instead of a new dude to break up Colby and Damon, why not recast Petey? Make him cooler this time. Let him compete with Damon for Colby. It would provide family for Opal and more conflict for Tad, Damon being Tad's son and Pete being Tad's brother.

I just keep watching thinking how I'd do it different and how much better it could all be if they would stick with the history.

Eventhe new mayor. I like her. She's awesome, but why dies she have to be some new name we've never heard if?Why couldn't she be Mrs. Valentine's daughter? Could have been an interesting story to tell there as the daughter of Phoebe's maid. Could've had a whole family with all kinds of skeletons from the English/Tyler/Wallingford family lines-especially when Brooke was back. Sigh. I can dream I guess.

I haven't posted here in long time...so thanks in advance for the podcast and allowing me to vent!!!!

1 - Sorry for your loss Jordan. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
2 - The Emmy's were all about Vegas and Bandstand, however that is the only way the showrunners could have it on CBS. The ratings were highest during the bandstand stuff. Sadly, if it weren't for that...it wouldn't have been on TV
3 - I can't comment on Julie Pinson since i hate her character
4 - I think that any one of the women in best actress would have deserved their win. It was a hard category. No one was robbed
5 - Drew Tyler Bell....no words. Forget about him not being contract...HE SUCKS ASS!!!!
6 - I haven't come back to AMC yet....but did Palmer leave anything to his son...you know Petey????
7 - I am in mourning for the crap that is ATWT. I hate that TPTB have decided to showcase Julie Pinson, a newbie to the show....and build up her story and family...instead of paying homage to the vets. It pisses me off more every day....See point 3.
8 - I don't watch Y&R anymore, however there isn't positive reaction to ER from the boards that i have seen.
9 - I am loving OLTL and GH!!!! Those are my highlights! Eli beat Ford and threw Marty down the stairs! Tea scenes! Starr and James! YES!! I am slowly becoming a fan of Sonny.

I think I am done...by the way, hearing Jordan oogle people on the street is HILARIOUS!!!

Just finished watching AMC for the week and I must say that MCE should be given an award. Not only can she is an amazing actress that can play so many different levels! The scene's she had with JR were great. I was shocked at the speech with Colby (of all people)! I just love her. I'm glad that they split her up with Ryan all those years ago and gave her some material.

I also am curious, did OLTL earn any Emmy's for last year? I thought they were the show to watch according to all of the bigger blogs. What happened? I know the few minutes that record after AMC were always more interesting that the whole 60 minutes of Pratt's AMC.

I am in agreement that AMC has improved dramatically in the past 6or 7 months. It had become unwatchable for awhile there (recall the freakin' danceathon, for God's sake).

Over the past few weeks, however, I've been transferring some of my favorite AMC scenes from VHS to DVD, looking over episodes going back to 1986. My God, but the show was good throughout most of the
'90s.

Sure, there were some flubs--the recast of Natalie, for instance--but the storytelling was at a peak: Mona Kane's death and funeral, the introduction of Kendall Hart, the gay teacher episode on the Cutting Edge, Bianca's anorexia intervention, the recasting of Janet Green, the romance of Noah and Julia. Even the somewhat lackluster return of Mike Roy featured some great writing as he and Erica sparred in classic Tracy/Hepburn fashion. As much improved as AMC has been, I would like to see the kind of quality on display as was 15 years ago. Granted that the writing is better than it has been and the performances are fine, but neither the drama nor humor are up to the level that kept me loyal to the show for years.

Adam and Palmer and Brooke are missed, the cast feels truncated, the fun has been sparse. I hope to see more improvement, but the standout shows and performances have been too few. I keep watching, but my DVD project really makes me nostalgic for what's come before.

On the What If series. I loved the interaction between Carly and Ryan, other than the fact they had to keep referring to Greenlee as Ryan's love. But aside from that, it was amusing. The Todd and Spinelli one was funny. The Erica and Sonny meeting was okay. But I just love this new series.

Enjoyed the podcast. Just saw an AMC Commercial, Annie and JR - Hot, Erica and Caleb, could be okay, Ryan and Greenlee - The bile just rose up in my throat.

How is everyone, hard to believe but my baby is 21 tomorrow! She and JR were babies at the same time, but only one was SORAS'd

Jen said...

Jesus that was intense action for a Monday epi. I wonder if that was really Friday's. MCE/JY if they aren't nominated for emmys in 2011 burn the place down, b/c I've been following SLs w/ couples other than Billy/Victoria on Y&R and they aren't even that serious in chemistry..no one makes me feel as obsessed to watch a scene like JR & Annie have. NONE..they don't even have to be on this whole week, that's how much we got from them on Monday.

I saw the promos too, I can't picture GreenMe saying that, so I'll believe that is a dream sequence, JR/Annie on the other hand, I think that one is real.

You know I'd take on a army of Caleb Cooney's... it'd be a million times easier than being this close to you not able to touch you

That's swoon worthy material..and he's so frantic around her, telling her to wrap up his hand quick b/c the slightest touch might make him do something, just like at the yatch club when they were reading the binder and she slightly grazed his index finger..he can't be next to her and recieve contact w/o going into a frantic state. It was so easier when he/she hated ea. other, now not so.

Kudos to Marissa, finally buying a clue, but I can't say the same for Scott. Srsly you think in the span of 2 mths. they are gonna forget what's going on between them?

Oh wait I got to touch on the Damon/Liza/Colby...Colby is in TOO deep.. and she's gonna explode when it all comes out, Liza stealing Damon's pills to damage Damon's condition..ohhh WOW..something tells me that's gonna hurt more ppl than just Damon.

Kudos to Jackson about time he asked WTH is going on. Caleb is intrigued by Erica, I still find myself saying he needs to bath regularly.. srsly I can't picture Erica leaving Jackson for him but I guess his strong persona is what pulls her in. The masochist in Erica might be taking over. I can't remember last time I rewinded the scenes that much..oh and Jackson/Krystal even look intriguing.

Shadow said...

Jen- ITA. Now that Caleb is getting less cartoony I'm getting a little more interested. Everyone is better because the wroters are writing to the personality of the characters. In Caleb's case, they may not have pinpointed the finer details of who Caleb represents and what his personality ticks are, but it's so much better than blandly connecting the plot points. (At least he combed his hair!) The characters have heart & soul again, and they aren't all clueless. Except for Scott but as Stuart's son, he should be a bit naïve.

Marissa seriously needs to comb her hair the other way. Yesterday I had to put my sunglasses on every time her bald spot glared toward the camera.

If you haven't viewed the ABC What If web eps, check them out. They are all gems. I would love to see more moments in the lives of our characters during the show like these-just entertaining snippets that underscore who the characters are about and their perspectives/POV on life.

Mel Got Served said...

I'm slightly intrigued with Caleb because despite never being in PV before also has the Chandler grudge that stems from the Pigeon Hollow days.

Colby, we've got a Stage 9 Clinger.

Again, I know that we're on this Madison path to redemption, Madison is so great, and I don't care if she's cute and they have chemistry: MADISON TORTURED THE HUBBARDS. How could Frankie even for a hot second maybe even consider hitting that? I know the Hubbards are good, forgiving people but c'mon, to a certain extent. It's one thing to forgive her and move on, but no way would any family in their right mind still allow this girl to be part of their lives. Jesus, for once Randi is the one who semi-makes sense not wanting Madison sleeping in her home, but then you realize the show is playing off the jealously and not the fact that Madison is a murderer and manipulator.

Jen said...

Mel, she not only tortured the hubbards, SHE HAD IN NONDIRECTLY KILLING FRANDI'S BABY!!!

Shadow, I agree they are FINALLY writing for the characters. When JR was in that living room and told Annie of all ppl

'I wanted to buy my uncle Palmer's company, to show my father I have what it takes'

and then he said

(In frustration)

'Am I gonna be doing this for the rest of my life?'

You start getting where he's coming from, not only does he miss dad, not only does he love the business world, his Chandler heritage and the perks of it, but he feels he has to prove himself to everybody.

He has to prove himself as a dad
He has to prove himself as a brother
He has to prove himself as a son
He has to prove himself as a recovering alcoholic
He has to prove himself as a husband
To Babe
To Tad
To Colby
To Scott
To Marissa
To David (S.O.B. he is)
To Erica
To Dixie

And not all of that is gonna work out so perfect. All of that comes in time w/o forcing things, most of that is happening and he can't see it. Live your life, for you and AJ and your family, but what you want matters too.

When Annie told him she did everything for Emma and herself, she made sure she included what she wanted matters too, even when she saved JR, it was for JR/AJ and herself.. while here in contrast JR is doing things for everyone else but himself and it digs deep in him, waking up every morning trying to prove he can do this, he can do that, he can be this.

Mel Got Served said...

I totally forgot about Randi's stress making her miscarriage. Apparently so did the Hubbards.

Shadow said...

Man, ya'll are on fire today making all kinds of sense. Honestly, it's hard to reconcile any character who originated during the Prattosuckit years. As much as everyone should be wincing that Madison is a murderer, Randi was a prositute. Not only has her vadge been all over every diseased peen in Center City, she even spread it on a wide angle lens for the world to view on the internet. I would be as much or more concerned with his physical and mental health. That dude could have a whole lot worse than plain ol' itchy scratchies. In fact, how do we know it was the kids blood that is blinding Angie and not that Rancid spit in her eye? Anything could be swimming around in Rancid's fluids! And so it goes. Brot has no connection. Sweet dude, but rather pointless Natalia SHOULD NOT EXIST!! Still bugs the shit outta me that Nat is Jessie's daughter by another woman Ah, but what can we do? The new team is stuck with what they inherit from before. When writing teams change faster than the actor's contracts, they just gotta make it work. At least Aidan and Mongrief are gone and Dr. Sheridan whatsherface isn't the Chief of Staff at PVH with Nurse Boogerface. Ok, I would like it if Nurse Boogerface was there, but that's it. Hopefully these contrivances will pan out as contracts expire. Lord knows there's going to be some extra talent available in the fall. Zendall is returning, etc. Hopefully they are just screwing with us about Ryan & Greenlee's "epic" love. And Tad got a haircut! Now that's progress.

Mel Got Served said...

Tad looks so much better without that pompadour on his head.

See, I like Natalia, think the actress is good, but again history was destroyed to make her. Listen, I could buy that at some point in life Jesse knocked someone else up. What I can't buy is Jesse got into a serious relationship and knocked her up A YEAR after faking his death. Pratt's shithead of a team made it like Jesse couldn't give a crap about Angie and hopped into the first bed he could find.

I am dreading the return of Zendall, who suck the show into their orbit. And if Zach isn't sticking around, who will they pair Kendall with? I don't care!

Crystal said...

Zack is briefly coming back. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me he has short hair and wears his hockey shirt one more time. sigh

I am liking Ryass more. Starting to get glimpses of the old day. I am liking Greens less. Angie is RIDIC. MCE has been great but, it really bugs me they over curl her eyelashes. Does anyone else notice this?
I don't care about Caleb because I don't think he is here to stay. If he I thought he was I would probably be more into it.

Shadow said...

Ryan was great with Carly in the What If. I have never been a Ryan fan, but I'm really easing up on him because of the writing. He himself has turned it down a notch. I'm sure they're going to maximize whatever time they have left with Zendall both on contract, but I'm hopeful they will eventually blend in like the others. The eps seem to be much more evenly distributed among the characters each week at a pace more like the good old days with nobody hogging screen time. We have haven't had to endure too much endless Greenlee drama since Lorraine has been back. Man, I love Lorraine Broderick. She's a miracle worker. Zendall became so crass under McTravish & Pratthole. I'm sort of interested to see what they can do with Kendall now, especially with Bianca back for good. At some point, they are going to have to address the Reese thing. Again, another character Pratt invented and effed up. I don't really care. Maybe Reese & Gabby could die tragically in a terrorist plot and Miranda could come home unscathed and start over with Binx. Harsh, but I'd be ok with it.

Shadow said...

Caleb just looks like the kind of dude who smells and has assorted hygeine issues.

Melissa C Egan keeps getting hotter. I wish they would fire up Amanda with a really hot storyline so Crishelle could amp it up. I don't want our Mandy to turn into a house frau.

Arizonagal said...

I agree Shadow, WEHT our little spitfire Amanda? She returned to PV as a nasty little schemer but now she's turned too saintly. One little thing that bugs me, why the F did Amanda take that Fusion modeling job? She was married w/child when she took it. Would our little hotty really prefer staying home to modeling in Italy? So lame.

I like both Jake and Amanda individually, but as a married couple they are duds, or at least dudish.

Shadow said...

I liked it when Amanda literally screwed JR out of $5 million and the houseboat. They were pleasantly dysfunctional. I still occasionally find my mind wandering to Amanda in top in nothing but Brot's army jacket. Good times.

TnT said...

MCE has been great but, it really bugs me they over curl her eyelashes. Does anyone else notice this?

Yes, Crystal, that has been bugging me too! I wish they would leave her eyelashes alone.

Anonymous said...

TnT and Crystal,
A while back when they started showing the episodes online at ABC.com with actor commentary, Rebecca Budig did one and she talked about the fact that MCE wears fake eyelashes. I'm not sure if she wears them in every scene but Rebecca was saying how much she liked how they looked on Melissa and how she wanted to try them herself. Maybe that's the culprit!

Arizonagal said...

OOh that lucky Penelope Cruz, she snagged Javier Bardem, drool... Of course, I'm sure the men are thinking Javier is lucky!

If having fake lashes would make me look like MCE I'd do it in a heartbeat!

I read Tuc Watkins went back on contract at OLTL right before he inked a contract deal on Desperate Housewives. Wonder what's gonna happen to Vickers?

A few minutes ago, I finished watching Friday’s AMC on SOAPnet.

Question: Did Ryan start playing kissy face with Madison as a means of potentially distracting her from possibly seeing Greens? Or, did he actually want to make out with her?

An observation reguarding Biancha delivering Erica’s letter of resignation to Caleb during Thursday’s episode: Man, Binks must have broken the land speed record, as fast as she left Erica and ended up at Caleb’s front door—LOL! (There wasn’t even a nanosecond of hesitation between those scenes)

Not much new with me. The big news is Chicago is Transformers is filming without Megan Fox. I would like to see the sets, but I would mostly like to see Josh D, my beloved ex-Leo. In other AMC news. Larry Keith, ex-Nick Davis, passed away. I always enjoyed his friendship with Mona.

I have been going to a lot of concerts in Chicago with 6 dollar vouchers. I saw Steve Winwood and Santana last week, last night I went to Lilith fair for the same price. I saw Heart, Mary J. Blige and Sarah McLaughlin. It was great and a very diverse group. Lesbians are the calmest concert goers I have ever seen. Or maybe by the time I got there everyone was wiped out from heat exhaustion.

Right up until the last scene of OLTL today, I watched like most days. Most of the time, I have it on while I’m doing something else either in the same or an adjoining room. Then came “Christian” and (what should have been Rene Elyse Goldsberry) “Evangeline”. Couldn’t the show have had the original actress back, for one day??? She was one of the major reasons I kept watching the show, in the first place. REG could actually out act some performers, even if “Evangeline”, in a coma, never uttered a word.

I will leave the religious/ metaphysical discussion of Evangeline ‘still being there’ for another blog…

Then, if all of the above wasn’t enough, Christian tells the comatose Evangeline he still loves her. What?! Where did that come from? !@#$! What about poor Layla? !@#$! What a dog!

Crystal said...

Jason, I don't know about the 20 episode thing. On one hand it makes me worried about soaps in general. On the other hand it would get rid of some of my tv viewing which is good.

I didn't care for the Greenlee What If. It looked like RB had fun with it but, it didn't seem anything like Greenlee which I thought was weird.

brtedi said...

During today's (Tuesday's) episode when Annie basically said she knew how to 'fix' the JR/Annie/Scott situation, I thought to myself, She'll marry Scott!--It's scary the writers had the same idea. LOL!

We all know Annie's plan will blow up in her face. But for now, Scott will be Annie's main course, with a generous , helping, of JR on the side---If the writers continue writers continue to write this storyline well, we (the viewers) won't be the ones left with indigestion.

Jen said...

I too said the same thing, she's gonna attempt to marry Scott, marrying Scott really creates no tension, since they all live under the same roof. Being engaged w/ Scott while JR is falling for her, which he clearly is each passing day.. now they have to have sex again. They just have to, b/c that will be the telling of this SL when after they do give in, Annie feeling like you know horrible b/c she thinks to JR it will be nothing and how she wishes he were like Scott, when JR instead now starts getting posessive and jealous of her being w/ Scott.

IMO It's over for E-Babe, she doesn't do it for JR anymore, she's not even his first thought, JR is thinking Annie/AJ/Colby then Scott. What I want to know is when do they give in, b/c that's when this SL starts taking shape.

I don't believe she loves Scott at all, the reason she did this was b/c of Emma and the fact JR doesn't want to build a life w/ her, she wants all of JR or nothing. This targets what JR has done in every RL, made it about sex and not valued most of his RLs..now w/ Annie it's a whole nother story.

So I had a dream last night involving watching (and for some reason, a lot of it was about that Double Rainbow YouTube guy). Anyways, in the episode I was watching in my dream, Zach and Kendall were back (bleckh) but here's the good part: in the dream, one of the little kids referenced Erica as their GRANDMOTHER. They called her Ri Ri and Erica was very excited. See soaps, it ain't that hard to make Erica admit to being a grandmother.

Jen said...

LMAO Mel... I had that 2 weeks ago. LOL Erica would die first or commit murder before any of her kids who are grand refer to her as grand anything. Her twitter doesn't even refer to them.

Crystal said...

Dear OLTL, the only thing worse than one who's the daddy story line is two. Also, why does Eli wear shirts all the time? That is all.

How AWESOME was Marissa's reaction to Scott's proposal today? She was hilarious! If they gave that actress material like that more often maybe she wouldn't be so boring.

I don’t know if anyone saw GH today, but it was one of the oddest and most thrilling hours of soap I have ever seen. Murder, mayhem and a drag queen crooner jam-packed into 46 minutes of television. It occurred to me that they are sort of doing a daytime “Dark Knight” with James Franco as The Joker. The show’s moral ambiguity is a constant sticking point with me, I feel if there was a hero to cheer for (rather than mob enforcer Jason Morgan) in the protagonist role, it would be more compelling drama, but it is fresh and unique, elegantly produced and well acted. Definitely DVR the rebroadcast on Soapnet is you are interested.

No actually I like Ryan (never thought I'd say that) he's toned down, my hate for him has completely disappeared, part of me even wouldn't mind Rylee down the line. I'm enjoying him w/ Madison too much.

What stood out w/ David today was how it feels like this is a write SL for the character. David finding blood on his sleeves when he did nothing wrong there, kind of lets me know, he's gonna have an epic fall and this is like a payback for all the shit you did SL.

JR and Caleb, everything JR and The Chandlers is MUST WATCH, except for that quad from hell and I have absolutely no feeling, I'm almost numb when I watch Scott w/ Annie and it's not helping his character b/c IDK who Scott is. JR/Annie that's the exact opposite and I've felt that way for the longest, this week JR/Annie have had some great character build from the proclaimation of caring about her to the scene when he finally did his dad never did in stealing Cortlandt Electronics, JR shared that moment w/ Annie and she didn't the side eye thing she always does when she hugs Scott. And last night her fixing his tie, btw Scott sending her to keep an eye on JR is to LOL for me to express. JR giving Caleb a reason to despise the Chandlers is so compelling.

Loved the scenes at hospital, I got the dream Ryan had too. I just don't get why Bianca was in it.

Jen said...

I'm so pissed off w/ how many spelling errors that last post had so I'll just call it a night. But here are some correction just for kicks.

*btw Scott sending her too keep an eye on JR is too LOL

Thank god for the return of Mad Men! My friend and I had a Mad Men night and I made beef stroganoff for dinner, made whoopie pies for dessert, ate Utz potato chips, and each had a Tom Collins.

Shadow, have to disagree about Project Runway expanding to 90 minutes. For me, even 60 minutes has become tedious as the workroom is so dull, as is scrambling around Mood for fabric. For a show that's, IMO, on it's last legs, adding another half hour isn't going to help it.

Big Brother is driving me up the wall thanks to the show's favoritism of the stupid, terrible showmance. Even the live feeds are awful because 2 cameras are always on these 2 losers.

I'm still behind on AMC. It's good, I just haven't had a lot of time to watch. The problem now is that I actually enjoy watching the full episode and therefore can't fast forward. I still hate Ryan because they make him such a do-gooder, Mr. Perfect saint. I don't mind him with Madison, but they've done the same to her and made her St. Madison of Murdering Husbands. As long as there isn't Rylee rehash I could perhaps tolerate him, but I'm also not optimistic since Kendall is returning and I could care less. Anything Chandler is awesome. Damon is awesome- love this story. Feel bad for Tad because I think he sees Liza as finally his destiny or whatever and she's turning his kid into a crazy. Colby's such a stage 5 clinger. God, if I was Damon I'd go off my meds to avoid her too. AMC's weekly preview/spoiler newsletter says [SPOILER] Colby loses her virginity. Ummmm Colby lost her virginity like 3 years ago to Sean on a stolen yacht. Do your research ABC newsletter!

This has probably been discussed to death here, but I just read that Tika was taken off contract at OLTL.

Seeing her interact with her mother over the fate of her sister has been really good acting. The emotion in her performance is sorely lacking. Why would they keep the horrible Rex and Gigi story yet get rid of her?

I've watched OLTL since Port Charles ended (however long ago that's been). It got really good and I was hardly FF'g at all for a few years. Now, there is much FF'g of the VCR every scene with Rex and Gigi as well as anytime the perpetually screaming Dani is on.

So sad.

AMC seems to have gotten their act together. Its not compelling like OLTL was, but at least there is stuff I like. However the Ryan and Greenlee reunion is on the horizon and that is definitely FF material.

Rex tells Gigi she'll make the D list when she goes back to college - oh wait, he said "deans" list. ooops

Gigi going to college, ROTFL... This actress just can't pull off anything resembling intelligence or ambition. Gigi is all about looking good and messing with her ugly hair, she's much better suited to a career in a nail salon. Is Roxy hiring?

I'm in heaven, Rex gets drugged by Eli and Ryan passes out and bumps his head.... I'm hoping for the first of many long running Kendall-worthy comas from Ryass,

MCE's locks are getting lighter. I love the brunette Annie, hope she's not going to the dark (blond) side.

For Pete's sake Angie, just tell the friggin truth about your physical condition, though I agree with blogger who said she's giving emmy worthy performances. Debbi Morgan is so good, she's spinning this lame SL into gold.

And speaking of the truth, David is nagging Greenlee for not telling him she saw Ryan in NY. Puhlease, when has he ever spoken the truth? Oh yeah, when it's convenient he'll go there.

Is it just me or is Scott starting to behave like a real unsexy square? WEHT to the hot guy who used his speedo to cover himself up a few months ago. Miss that!

That was hilarious, he looked like a pitbull ready to bark her out of the hospital.

I'm over the David Hayward SLs there's just so much propping that goes into telling me he's evil, JR does one thing in the 10+ yrs. they ignored him now some actual character written progression, no drugging, plane crashing or etc. just stole a company Chandler style. See that's a true villain.

Who didn't want to kick his ass after hearing

'The rivalry is over... CHANDLER WON'

This is gonna be fun to watch. Scott is ok, but he's getting on my nerves. Marissa LOL just keep her away from my JR.

I gotta admit as much as there are elements that I can't stand in the Chandlers, namely the horrific current pairings, hopefully in time that is fixed, b/c the quad from wherever needs to end.

The good thing about these new breed Chandlers, is how the world in PV media/business see them like together, they act in public like they are united and in reality they aren't. They are one fall away from breaking badly, with so many breakable elements, Scott could seek revenge, JR can always crack under pressure, Annie is the same way, Marissa can make one wrong mistake, Colby can crack..it's like Jenga w/ them. Percieved as a united family, only not.

'...however, one thing i could not get over was that lulu showed up! it made absolutely no sense. how is lulu gonna protect Dante from Jason?...."

Amphitrion, ITA, when I saw Lulu in the croud during Friday's eppy I thought, how'd she (supposidly) get to LA from Port Charles,NY? And what's she going to do smack Jason on the head, with a high heel? LOL!

Better yet, I know, characters have fleeting memories, if it suits a storyline, but hasn't Jason saved Lulu from the Port Charles Hotel fire, a bomb scare or something? Heck, he's always the 'go to guy' when anybody needs help. All of a sudden Lulu see Jason as his own evil twin...

I did like, however, when Jason told Dante off at gun point. While most of the time I like Dante, this time he did have it coming, imo. And it was fun seeing Jason totally furious about the stuff with Michael--I think, Steve Burton was channeling a little Kirk Douglas, as he delivered some lines through gritted teeth.:-D

Aside from that did anybody else enjoy the scenes from Monday's Y&R?--where "Cloe" (Elizabeth Hendrickson) Slaped "Heather"/Eden Reigel--and then "Ronan"/Jeff Branson had to carry Cloe out of the apartment, over his shouder, like a sack of potatoes? Loved that!--

And while I'm on the subject, just exactly how did Chance end up sleeping with Heather, anyway? Seems as if he tripped over the couch and landed on top of Heather in the middle off the night--Oppps! His bad! --LOL!

Hello Kids,

Sorry that I have been away from here and facebook. Been a crazy few weeks.

Have to say I'm really tired of reading that AMC is unwatchable. Look you all know how vocal both Ashley and I were during Mctavish's last run and the debacle that was known as the Dark reign (Pratt). When you consider the state these two morons left AMC in, it is a miracle what is transpiring on the screen now.

There is some juicy stuff going on that is all school soap. The characters have become 3 dimensional and you actually care what happens. The dialogue is witty.

Now is there room for improvment of course but at least now AMC is in a conidition were it is competing to survive with the remaining soaps.

It does feel life Survivor. "The tribe has spoken...AS THE WORLD TURNS pick up your torch and leave the Island...

Anyway... I think I figured out why Caleb is not working for me at times. While the concept of the character is great and what the show needs. Nouri is playing it one note. There is no levels and depth to his portrayl. Robert Newman would have been perfect for this role and he would have looked so good opposite La Lucci. Also people he is not fat. Stop that. He is a man of a certain age.

The Chandlers and The Martins continue to be my favorite as with each episode I never know where this is going and when watching a soap that is a miracle.

Even thou the storyline is kind of predictable and done when you give an actress the material she makes it worth watching. When GL gave Reva Cancer I was like oh here we go. They did it with Lillian, Lizzie....but Kim gave such a compelling performance that got her the emmy. Dare I say that if they keep giving her this kind of material our dear Debbi can win.

I still want more core family members on the canvas and a new Latin family with Mayor Blanco. Age those damm kids already.

I wish they would stop with Ryan and Greenlee thou. Too much water under the bridge. They need to move forward. Will be interesting to see how the new writers will write for Kendal.

All in all AMC is on the road to recovery and I for one could not be happier. I have laughed and cried. Michael E. Knight has been just amazing to watch. To see him come full circle is a beautiful thing.

If only they would allow Erica to do that...sigh one can hope.

Ok Jordan, if you want us to say some positive things about AMC then I'll start by saying I gotta disagree with you about Caleb. Nouri is not one-note, it's a subtle, nuanced performance. In many ways this guy reminds me of an old Zach, quiet but with a lot brewing beneath the surface. Never been a Nouri fan, but am warming up to his performance and like the fact that he plays it close to the vest and is revealing bits of himself slowly. I see some great SLs coming up with Caleb and JR struggling for power. I love the fact that the Caleb/JR struggle is not between two young hunks. JR is the guy I love to hate because Jacob Young is a master at this role. I think Caleb is bringing a lot of good things to AMC, and he's bringing out the best in those in his sphere.

Huh? Did I miss Project Runway?

Shadow said...

Oops, my bad. You didn't miss Project Runway. Had my days mixed up. The new season of Project Runway premiers Thursday, July 29.

New show too gross not to miss: "Monster Inside Me". It is gross out Heaven. Nothing better than a Hoarders/MonstersIM Combo on a lazy, blistering hot day! Sadly, I never really get to have the lazy part but it's totally freaking hot.

Arizonagal said...

Hey Shadow, I have watched Monsters inside me. I can't watch it while I'm eating tho! Also watching Hoarders, Obsessed, Addicted, Intervention, Mystery Diagnosis. It's nice to see how the other half lives. I am so darned normal!

Arizonagal,

I think I came across as I dislike Nouri. I don't I'am enjoying him and Caleb. There are a great deal of people who are not enjoyign him and I think it has to do with the fact that he is playing the obvious. We get that Caleb is Mountain man doesn't like people, etc, etc. As an actor thou you have to layer to make the character have some depth. While I see Caleb a great deal of people are not. Some of it is due to the writers but as an actor he needs to find the moments where he can make caleb likeable and accessible to the audience.

brtedi said...

Maybe, well see Caleb evolve further once he's in the house with Bianca...Personally, I think, Nouri plays off Bobbie Eakes quite well.

Today's AMC was almost perfect! I loved the dinner with David. Truly great!!!! I loved the conclusion to the Tad and Liza showdown in NY. I'm happy with an actual love triangle between Madison/Ryan/Greenlee. I actually don't know who I want with Ryan. The only thing I didn't like is a big nit-pick moment: Why would Greenlee have curly hair with David then straighten her hair before going to the office? Kinda weird for the middle of the day. But otherwise, I really like AMC right now.

I also kinda like Caleb. He is a MUCH BETTER version of Zach. I would like to see him with Krystal.

Jen said...

Here's the thing I don't get or want w/ the love triangle, Ryan, the true Ryan shouldn't go back to her. Madison, (yes Ms.Bookend) Madison has been there for him and took her time too. They didn't push into this, but once it's revealed what GreenMe actually did, he can't just blame David, I mean David is a son of a bitch, who's rope in rootability is disappearing as deep as this SL goes, but even Ryan should have his limits, especially now. If there is a Ryan/Madison/Greenlee triangle, which would honestly be fun, b/c I saw a preview to this when they were in the park, I'm extremely hoping Madison wins. B/c it's about time that someone beats GreenMe at her own game.

Her road back into Ryan's arm is not, nor should be that easy. As we saw this week the speed bumps are coming, Madison, Frankie, Bianca, David, Kendall (she will play a big part) ..I'd hold that reunion till 2010, I'd have Madison cheat on Ryan somewhere down the line out of pressure, who knows maybe w/ Scott or someone.

Oh I have to say Jacob Young, Melissa Claire Egan and Debbie Morgan are all giving Emmy worthy/winning performances. Kudos to those three.

Jen said...

Oh god how can I forget MEK and Jamie Luner she's taking bitch to another level.

Arizonagal said...

Oh man, this is a no brainer. The "triangle", Ryan/Greenlee/Madison can IMO have only one satisfactory conclusion - Ryan and Madison! Ryan and Greenlee has been done to death. Move on already!

I don't love Rebecca Budig, but I do like her and respect her talent. It would be great to see her move on when she's done with David (hopefully soon). Since we all know that "moving on" in the soap world means snagging a new guy, why not someone else. Didn't she have a thing once with Scott? I think they went to college together. That would be a smokin' reunion.

TnT said...

I can't imagine why the writers would think we want a Greenlee/Ryan reunion? I haven't heard very much positive feedback about them at all. I agree it's time for Greenlee to move on, but with someone new, like Scott, as Arizongal said.

As far as Madison, I know she has an unforgiveable past, but I give amnesty to any SL that was destoryed under the helm of that Pratt character. I pretend like all those despicable SLs were just a bad dream so I can move on to the good stuff now.

I am loving Caleb. I would like to see more scenes with Caleb and Merissa. And Tad/Damon/Liza -- loving it! And I agree that Colby is becoming very clingy with Damon. But I find it a very realistic SL. I've seen this type of scenario happen plenty of times in RL where young girls become too attached to their boyfriends.

Terry in Toronto said...

Greenlee and Ryan are so done and gone. Please don't revisit them on fans. I couldn't take it. No. NO NO!
Pleeaaassssseeeeeee NOOOOOOOOO!

Jen said...

I'm not gonna say I wouldn't want Ryan and Greenlee, but the road back shouldn't be easy. BTW as much as we don't like them, the ratings went up significantly the week of thier SL, Rylee fantasy and all, there are ppl starting to like them, just not for now, realistically Ryan should be dodging this girl b/c she's bad for him. Maybe 2011 you revisit it but not now.

As for Scott, I'll bite, anything that will get him away from JR & Annie FTLOG it's embarassing what is going on there aside from JR/Annie. I haven't been or seen one poll site having Scott as a favorite for Annie, SID, ABC, DC, SoapTown...you name it, they can't stand Scott or Marissa in this SL or the fact JR/Annie always have something interupting them.

Gee first it was Brooke opening a door on them, Adam, then AJ interupted them, then Kwak, add Colby now..literally I'm expecting a Tsunami to interupt thier next almost sex scene.

OLTL has been great. While I'm not 100% sold on Mama Inez and her A&F boys over the diversity of the Ho's, Mo's, Sista Rachel and Joplin anything is better then G-Rex and Snatchalie.

I love Jessica as Inez but it is hard to believe that she is Ford's mama.

Unlike Ashley I love the twist with Elijah. That is good soap.
I really hope they find away to keep Hannah bannana on.

Things that have me concern, what will happen to David Vikcers now that Tuck is on contract at DH. Having the lovley and talented Tika off contracrt and they can't seriously be killing Tea off. I will be so disgusted if that happens.

What I find dd is that before I always felt that Ron always knew where he was going with the show. Even if he had to end a storyline sooner then planned (Vagnessa) or write someone out because of Frons and his ageism (A. Martinez as Ray). Yet know I feel like he is kind of floating. What is going on with Marty. There is back burner and then there is I don't know now what to do with our emmy winning actress. Still feels like they are forcing Kelly on us and poor Gina is trying so hard to make something work but it just is not happening.

I want to seem more quality. I love the storyline for Tika. People deal with this issue all the time. Janet Hubert was great as Layla and Vangie's mom. When will they realize I rather see some good acting from someone who can deliver like Tika and Janet, then Gigi's lips, Natalie's big eye, Rex's facial expressions and Ford's abs.

GH has me captivated. I'm not enjoying everything. There are people I don't like and fast forward but still can't get over the fact that Phelps and Guza are behind this. Never thought I would ever watch GH again.

I know everyone is going to hate me but I'm NOT excited about the return of Brenda Barrte and Vanessa Marcil. I just don't see a need. I understand why it is happening, people love her hardcore fans miss her and want her and Brenda back. ABC is hoping it will be ratings gold. I liked Brenda and Vanessa back in the day but she is an actress and it is just a character not a religion. To me there is no need for her on the canvas. The men in her life have moved on. Sonny has had children with two different women and some would argue that Carly is his true soul mate. Jax has also moved on. Can Jason really be considerd one of Brenda's men.

I just feel it would have been more beneficial for the show to bring back Genie as Laura. She has her three kids and Grandkids. Luke the love of her life. She was so connected with Mary Mae so she could befriend Maya. Possibility of new love interest.

Still not feeling chaka Michael and Nu Morgan.

Wish they would sign Brook Lynn on contract. She is great.

I like Olivia with Steve Webber.

I really believe OLTL is not using Marty so much these days because she is starting to show her age. Whereas Blair is still a hot mama, Marty looks haggard and old and since TPTB are aiming at a certain demographic, Marty is just not gonna cut it. Blair has an ageless quality, as does Dorian, Vickers and the rest of the Bukes. BTW where has Clint been?

A comment about Greenlee. A few years ago when TIIC fired Sabine and brought back Budig, we all cheered (while at the same time feeling really bad for Sabine). Then TIIC wrote Budig into a corner with Aidumb for a year. Bad move by TPTB, but Budig contributed to Greenlee's downfall. She could have pulled up her big girl panties, sucked it up and delivered solid performances, but she didn't, instead she quit.

Now Budig's back again and IMO she's no better than when she was with Aidan. Greenlee is still a miserable, surly person moping around with no sense of humor. Our little Debby Downer never smiles, never emotes, she just seems like an unhappy little rich girl. Who wants to watch that? It's a repeat of the Aidumb/Greenlee SL, she is paired with an established character she doesn't love or respect. I know Budig has the chops to make Greenlee work, but not seeing it in her this time around either. I'd love to see her be happy for just like five minutes, crack a smile for pete's sake! All the other characters have their highs and lows.

My suggestion? Kill David! Long ago he morphed into a mustache twirling bad guy with no conscience. In RL we'd call him a sociopath, no? Think about it, the list of suspects would be endless and Greenlee could either be the guilty one or she could find love with Scott. My two cents, and at that price, totally worth it.

So I just spent 7 1/2 hours at work with NO INTERNET OR PHONE. Did I mention I work for an e-commerce company? TO quote Jordan, I'm not amused! For like 30 minutes some of customer service had phone and internet, but then it went away again. I never had it and I was going insane sitting there. Left an hour early, got a manicure to ease my mood. Need a nap before PROJECT RUNWAY! Half excited, half dreading 90 minutes when I also have Big Brother, So You Think You Can Dance AND Jersey Shore. Busy busy night!

Arizonagal said...

I almost feel like I talked dirty to ya Jordan.

I just meant Greens is dull, boorish.

The girl needs a B12 shot or an enema. She's a bit sluggish.

Am loving Eli bad or good, but gonna miss him because you know this won't end well.

One of the project runway models I thought was Denise Vasi!
Watch the runway part.

Mel Got Served said...

Just saw her Crystal- the one in the evening dress, right? Anyways, that was the longest 90 minutes of my life. I almost resent this show from keeping me from Jersey Shore, but I know it's popular for my Reality Rundown- I do it for you folks! Full Jersey Shore recap on Monday!

Crystal said...

I agree project runway was a bit odd. I think the 90 could be great going forward because, so often outfits weren't even seen being worked on until they went down the runway. I hope they use the extra time well. I hated the challenge.

Mel Got Served said...

See, that's what I don't care about. When Tim went from designer to designer, it felt like ETERNITY. Too many designers, too long.

AZGal said: "The girl needs a B12 shot or an enema. She's a bit sluggish." LOL!! You're on a roll this week AZ.

Life has had me spinning the past month you guys. I apologize for being more quiet than usual. I had hoped to post a blog update but it's been one thing or another...

I did catch Most of Project Runway. All I can see we got for 30 extra minutes were more product placements (the Atlas building?) and blurry side boob. I prefer my Tittie Shots in crystal clear HD and hope Heidi doesn't have to say all that crap every week before the runway show. That alone took 15 minutes. One thing I didn't notice was much design talent. And the poor girl who had to deflect the applause in the back to tell everyone she was the only one kicked off? Well, that part was ok. I TOTALLY thought that was Denise Vasi too, but it couldn't have been could it? How long ago did they shoot this season?

Bobbie Eakes has been tweeting all day today about how good Michael Nouri has been during filming. That's good. Maybe it will work.

I know this may be controversial, but the one who I have decided is a dud is Scott. Maybe it's been the writing or other people stepping up and overshadowing him, but something isn't quite right there. Still not ready to part with him, but he's about on the same plane as Marissa. Both bore me. Everybody else has been interesting. Debbi Morgan has been riveting of course. ANGIE HUBBARD should be in the flyaway in the opening not David. Which reminds me, ABC needs to spring for new opening credits. Keep the theme though.

Hey Jordan;

Where are you? Where have you been? You missed the week-long Pride festivities but now it's Caribana weekend, and over a million people attend the raucous parade. So where are you? Maybe you can come up in September for the Film Festival.
Anyway, Elyse and I are thrilled to hear that you guys did a new podcast. Can't wait to hear your take on life in Pine Valley.
Also, try to think of AMC in the same vein that Obama inherited the USA. So there has been fabulous progress!

Finally finished taking the bar exam! It was MUCH different that the way they portrayed it on AMC with Marissa, lol. For one thing, I spent two and half months studying for it and it lasted three days. Good thing I didn't have a cheating husband to worry about. :)

Loving most of AMC right now. The Tad/Liza/Damon/Colby stuff is drama at its best. All of the actors (even NununuColby) are doing a fantastic job.

Debbi Morgan continues to knock her slightly unbelievable storyline out of the park.

LOVE everything going on at the Chandler masion. JR and Annie are really a supercouple in the making if TPTB don't mess it up. Scott and Marissa have a nice chemistry and think they should try them and see where it goes. Maybe have Marissa get pregnant by Scott and pretend it's JR's, keeping JR and Annie angst going for a while and then ultimately blowing everything up when the big reveal happens.

The only thing I CAN'T STAND is Greenlee/David/Ryan/Madison. Ryan is actually semi-likable with Madison and now that is being ruined. David is back to mustache twirling and Greenlee is just plain old annoying once again.

Have only seen bits and pieces of the show these last few months because of studying, but I'm getting caught up now. Haven't seen GH in forever but I've heard that the Franco stuff is over the top.

Jordan, I trust you when you say that Chaka and Fred Savage Jr. haven't gotten any better.

Haven't seen Y&R in ages but have heard that it is pretty inconsistent lately.

Hope that you all are doing well!

Love,
Elizabeth

Monica, 2 weeks ago my friend was asking me the same question the wk. Annie and JR were in sync while Krystal spied on thier moment in the living rm. And I told her not yet, he's getting there, even after he rescued her from Focker and they kissed in his rm., but on Friday when he watched her all happy w/ Scott, it started to dwell on him, it got more intense when he stole Cortlandt Electronics and celebrated w/ her infront of his son, but this Friday he started admiring her, and not just physically even though he does keep sneaking peaks at her ass infront of his wife, but that's JR that's what he does, I know I'm not the only one that notices that. Anyway JR saw Annie pick up an envelope and he followed her and even made up a bogus excuse to be w/ her, she told him he wasn't allowed to feel, JR sat there, listened to her, I truely believe he wants her to be happy, b/c he's relating to her, he figures now, she's lonely, she's had horrible luck, and I think he even knows marriage w/Scott won't work b/c he knows it's a carbon copy of why she got w/ Adam, to feel safe, secure, but instead of opposing it he's letting her follow through w/ it b/c he knows she's been hurt by Terry, Ryan, Adam, and now JR is defending her vs daddy? now you can say he is in love and he doesn't know it.

The worst thing/premise I have ever heard was be w/ the one who's safe instead of the one who's trouble. I never believe in that. Love has no eyes, when it hits you it hits you, it doesn't tell you you're gonna be w/ Mr.Perfect, it doesn't tell you you're gonna fall for a dumbass, jackass, whatever ass you can think of. It happens. I'd rather take the risk w/ the wrong one I love, than take the leap w/ the one I'm trying to love.

Side Note: I think NuBinxs is amazing, her scene w/ Ryan in the hospital bed (If not for these promos that are superRylee centric) was quietly strong. Ryan told her about his dream except he said in his dream he never made that mistake of sleeping w/ Kendall or Erica, in one sense he really likes Madison, he doesn't want to hurt her and she's the perfect type for him, and then you have GreenMe, she selfish, self centered, cocky, your regular immature brat, but he loves her. He doesn't want to, he's trying to forget her, but he can't b/c like JR w/ Annie, Ryan cares about GreenMe, she's a brat but that's his brat. How I would play this SL, have Madison win, Greens needs to suffer before any reunion.

Earlier I watched Wednesday’s episode of Y&R, during SOAPnet’s Saturday night marathon. I made an unexpected connection (valid or not) between character evolution and wardrobe.

First of all I really got a kick out of Cloe’s Cinderellaesque dream sequence. For me, her comment, “I look like I came from a 24 hour sale at the mall” was both funny and telling, when compared to other characters sporting formal ball attire, in her dream. Was it just me or was there a parallel between this and Ronan’s low key ‘look’, when Cloe came to meet him at the bar, dressed in a more attractive evening dress? Just a thought….

did anyone see OLTL today!!?!??!!

I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it but I was wondering why they showed Tea looking at the photos of her and and the old Todd (Roger Howarth) considering he's the old Todd.

After watching this I immediately thought back to one podcast in which Jordan said how he would bring back Roger Howarth.
